Job Description

The Flight Operations Officer reports to the Flight Operations Officer. This position is responsible for the international operations trip/flight planning and flight following for aircraft conducting in flight operations. The Flight Operations Officer must have a strong knowledge of company procedures, aircraft performance, applicable aviation regulations, national flight requirements as they relate to international flight authorizations and company operating procedures. He/ She will be responsible for delivering a high level of service to company clients (crew, passengers, operator, handling agent, and other vendors), while providing operational support to other team members, and develop a positive working relationship with team members and clients. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Flight Operations Officer duties and responsibilities consist of but are not limited to the following:

  • Filing flight plans in liaison with flight crews and the Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunication Network (AFTN)

  • Flight planning and filing with all applicable ATC agencies and preparing/disseminating complete flight briefings for flight crew - collating/reviewing/delivering WX, NOTAM’s, PIREPs, enroute and airport info to flight crew

  • Ensuring aircraft, crew and passengers have all necessary equipment, documents, visas and their entry requirements by concerned states/regions.

  • Obtaining all overflight/landing permits, and slots, in accordance with all regulations in an expeditious and economic manner

  • Setting up ground handling, in accordance with client preference, appropriate facilities in an economical and efficient manner

  • Arranging aircraft ground service requirements (pushback, WC, Water, Fuel, etc.)

  • Assist with arriving and departing aircraft, including baggage assistance and the driving of support vehicles.

  • Coordinate trips with all relevant authorities, i.e. customs, immigrations, airport and civil/military authorities

  • Administrative duties including basic filing and organization of passenger records and files.

  • Assumes any additional duties delegated by the Director of Operations

  • Other duties may be required, as needed.

Job Requirement

  • College/University in a related field preferred

  • Must be able to pass a background check to include a 7-year criminal & employer

  • history reference check

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Must be able to work flexible schedules

  • Self-educator and motivator

  • Must have skills in research and development of operating policies and procedures

  • Work rotating shifts including days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
