The regional soil and water conservation / agricultural engineering specialist will mainly be responsible for the management of SLM V in the Lake Chamo basin. The main responsibility of the soil and water conservation specialists is to provide adequate technical support to the regional, Woreda and Kebele/community level institutions that are in charge of planning and implementing physical and biological watershed development and management measures. This overall task also includes relevant capacity-building aspects. He/she will report to the GOPA Chief Technical Advisor

Job Requirement

Required profiles / qualification

• MSc degree in agricultural engineering, water and/or environmental engineering, soil and water conservation, natural resources and watershed development or comparable.

• A professional experience of 8 years.

• Record of working in similar projects and programs of natural resources management, in general, and integrated watershed development and management.

• Experience in participatory approaches of project planning and implementation as well as monitoring and evaluation.

• Experience in working with projects and programs financed by international donor organizations preferably with German Development Cooperation.

• Good communication and training skills

• A robust knowledge of hydrology especially in the Ethiopian context is considered an asset.

• Previous experience in the project area with relevant positions is considered as an asset.

• Perfect working of Amharic and very good knowledge of English in speaking and writing
