About the role

The Project Facilitator-Animal Welfare is responsible to improve the capacity of smallholder farmers, farmer groups (SHGs, CLAs etc.) and the agricultural extension system in their effort of improving the welfare and management of livestock in general and equines in particular and consequently support the improvement in the livelihood situation of smallholder farmers in the assigned districts.

Job Requirements

About you

  • MSc or BSc in Animal science, Animal Husbandry, Animal Breeding, Animal Production & Rangeland Management, or any animal related fields;

  • four years (4) for MSc and five (5) years for BSc of relevant work experience in the area of animal welfare and management particularly on equine welfare; experience of project monitoring at field level and quality report writing; experience of project monitoring and reviewing; desirable; prior experience with NGOs working in the area agricultural extension, community development and other food security related issues with smallholder farmers and project management in the area’s equine welfare & management
