About the NEP+

The Network of Networks of HIV- Positives in Ethiopia (NEP+), was established in 2004, as an umbrella organization of twelve PLHIV networks comprised of nine regional states, two city administrations and one national PLHIV women networks. NEP+ is legally registered as per new federal ACSO with registration No 1483. As a symbol of PLHIV communities, NEP+ is principally committed to end HIV and other top diseases and its impacts; advocate for the rights of PLHIVs, and other marginalized groups in the country. Currently, NEP+ would like to invite competent and qualified applicants for the following posts. 

All positions are contractual but extended depending on the availability of fund & performance. 

Job Summary: 

Under the supervision of the NEP+ Program Manager, the Project Coordinator will assist in coordinating planning and implementation of activities by project teams at the NEP+ headquarters and regions as well as those implemented by sub-recipients. The project coordinator will provide ongoing technical support to country level teams and the regional associations. The project coordinator assist in overseeing that project activities implemented integrated with the overall NEP+ program and harmonized with national and regional health plans.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:  

  • Assist in assessing the programmatic requirements and capacity building needs for the implementation of case management project;

  • Assist NEP+ country program and network associations in developing support plans for integrated case management project;

  • Coordinate and support initiatives targeting infrastructural, systems and human resource capacity building;

  • Participates in project proposal writing;

  • Provide general programmatic support to NEP+ and regional teams to ensure timely initiation and implementation of case management project activities and their integration with other program components; 

  • Facilitate communication, collaboration and sharing of implementation expertise and other resources among NEP+ country teams and regional associations; 

  • Advice and support NEP+ programs to attain and maintain high level of patient adherence to care and treatment, primarily by fostering greater involvement of PLWHA and linking monitoring and evaluation with clinical services;

  • Assist regional and site support teams to establish mechanisms for adequate interaction between case management program and the overall HIV related services

  • Liaise with and support monitoring and evaluation teams to ensure good documentation and use of data to improve program performance;

  • Support and coordinate country regional level initiative to assess and identify gaps in case management program quality and develop innovative solutions to overcome underlying problems;

  • Assist in identifying bottlenecks to program implementation and, in consultation with country program and sub-recipients, develop innovative solutions to challenges and facilitate their implementation;

  • Assist in ensuring consistency of case management program implementation across regional and implementation sites;

  • Work with country programs and site support teams to ensure transfer of expertise to adherence case mangers and supporters on-site, and ensure their active involvement in multidisciplinary team activities. 

  • Assists country level and regional and site support teams case management initiatives in establishing referral linkages and functional health networks for HIV care and treatment services that will also contribute to district health systems strengthening;

  • Assist country programs in building national and site level leadership capacity and ownership to institutionalize case management program;

  • Participate in development and writing of NEP+ experience and best practices related to implementation of the case management project.

  • Carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Program Manager.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

EDUCATION/TRAINING

  • MPH//MSc /MBA/ BSc in Social Science, Development or related fields.

EXPERIENCE 

  • 6/8 years work experience in the area of her/his expertise work and health/HIV related activities.

TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS 

  • Knowledge in basic computer and other project management software 

  • Skills in strategic planning and work plan development

  • Oral/written communication, interpersonal, organizational, supervisory, and presentational skills;

  • Expert knowledge of program development, coordination, and project evaluation;

  • Ability to contact and negotiate with representatives of governments and funding agencies;

  • Ability to refine existing work plans, develop new plans and establish new program staff support;

  • Ability to independently develop and implement the responsibilities stated in the job description;

  • Skills in report writing.
