Job Title : Financial Controller 

Reports to: Ethiopia Country Director

Job Summary: 

The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, accounting, and reporting at Kubik. This critical role involves managing cash flow, optimizing working capital, ensuring accurate financial records, and providing financial insights to support informed decision-making. The Financial Controller will play a key role in shaping the financial future of the company.

Responsibilities:

• Cash Flow Management: Manage working capital effectively, optimizing cash flow to support day-to-day operations and growth initiatives.

• Financial Leadership: Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team and ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.  

• Accounting Oversight: Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.

• Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process and develop accurate financial forecasts to support decision-making and goal attainment.

• Risk Management: Assess and mitigate financial risks, including currency exchange rate fluctuations and raw material price volatility.

• Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with banking partners to ensure favorable terms, financing options, and efficient banking services.

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

• Audit and Tax Compliance: Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.

• Inventory Management: Coordinate with factory and supply chain team to monitor and optimize inventory levels to balance production needs with working capital requirements.

• Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify areas for cost savings, process improvements, and revenue growth.

• Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency.

Job Requirements

• Strong Leadership skills 

• Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and cash flow management.

• Proficiency in financial software and tools, including Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

• Effective communication skills for presenting financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment and adapt to evolving challenges.

• Good understanding of Ethiopian tax regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field (Master's degree, ACCA or CPA designation preferred).

EXPERIENCE 

• Minimum  7 years of Experience 

• Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar senior financial leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
