Job Description
The Area Sales Manager leads a team of sales people which can include the Outlet Manager. This entails many different tasks, including training sales employees, holding regular conference calls, reviewing team member expense reports, coaching, motivating and supporting the sales team, and ensuring that employees are achieving their sales Targets
Maintaining and increasing sales of the company's products
Reaching the targets and goals set for your area
Establishing, maintaining and expanding your customer base
Servicing the needs of your existing customers
Increasing business opportunities through various routes to market
Setting sales targets for individual reps and your team as a whole
Conducting continues training for your sales staff
Allocating areas to branch managers and agents.
Developing sales strategies and setting goals
Monitoring your team's performance and motivating them to reach targets
Compiling and analyzing sales figures
Possibly dealing with some major customer accounts yourself
Collecting customer feedback and market research
Keeping up to date with products and competitors
Insuring sales portfolio expansion by close follow up of the market and competitor’s product
Provide detailed information and reports to the line manager as and when required.

Critical coaching of employees and training of subordinates for objective achievement
Ensure compliance to company policies, procedures, and legislation,
Ability to build a complementary team using individual strengths, delegation, coaching and feedback

Sales Tracking: Target vs. achievement daily tracking sheet
Daily Routines: Follow daily routines strictly to increase volume

Ability to negotiate in competition with other functions and business units for the deployment of resources
Internal Communication: Deputy CEO [FMCG], RSM, Finance, Operations, Branch Managers.
External Communication: Suppliers, Customers, Wholesales, retailers and other as requested by Line manager.

Qualification & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher – preferably in the field of Marketing Management, Business Management, Business administration and a specialization in commercial execution.
7 years Masters 8 Degree of professional work experience in the commercial and sales operation, preferably in a FMCG context
