Job Description
SOS Sahel Ethiopia jointly with Society for Education, Environment & Development (SEED), and HUNDEE – Oromo Grassroots Development Initiatives obtained financial support from UN OCHA to implement: “An Integrated Multi-Sectoral Response to Conflict Affected IDPs Recently Returned or Relocated in Abe Dongoro District Horo Guduru Wollega Zone, Oromia Region Project”. The project objective is to reduce the impact of humanitarian crisis related to conflict on the lives and livelihoods of the affected population of IDPS returnees through an integrated multi-Sectoral emergency Agricultural, WASH, ESNFIs, Protection and multi – purpose cash response. The project intervention period is from 01, December 2023 to 30, November 2024.
SOS Sahel Ethiopia, as part of its program implementation is seeking to employ interested, qualified, & experienced individual for the job positions mentioned hereunder:
Job Purpose / Summary
The Team Leader is one of field level position with the overall responsibility to lead and manage field based activities of UN OCHA funded “An Integrated Multi-Sectoral Response to Conflict Affected IDPs Recently Returned or Relocated in Abe Dongoro District Horo Guduru Wollega Zone, Oromia Region Project”. The post holder is primarily responsible to technically, financially, and administratively manage and direct the livestock support program at field level.
Lead the implementation of all activities as stipulated in the project document and as per the detail plan agreed upon;
In consultation with the Emergency Coordinator at Head Office, assign responsibilities for all project field staff, manage and supervise their works;
Facilitate periodic project progress review meetings and follow-up the implementation of agreed action points;
Ensure that the project partners fulfill their responsibilities as stipulated in the project document and agreement and keep them informed the project progress and constraints faced in the course of implementation;
Ensure the implementation of the project activities as the budget and timeframe indicated in the project document and bring any deviation from the original plan to the attention of the Emergency Coordinator at Head Office;
Facilitate periodic planning meeting of the staff of the project and ensure the agreed action points are executed;
Conduct periodical emergency situation analysis and provide update information to all concerned;
Prepare periodical progress reports, compile, review and submit to the relevant bodies timely;
Document key lessons learned in the course of implementing the project and share the experiences among the relevant organizations;
Ensure proper use and management of project inputs/resources (human, financial and material resources) allocated to Emergency Livestock Support Project;
Respect and promote SOS Sahel Ethiopia’s core values, principles, policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned by the organization.
Qualifications and Experience:
M.Sc. Degree in Project Management / Agricultural Economics / Development Studies / Business Development or related fields with minimum of 3 to 5 years relevant practical experience; good communication and interpersonal skills, good team player, and excellent report writing skill in English.
NB: Knowledge of local languages – Afaan Oromo is required.
