Job Description
Médecins du monde or Doctors of the World, is an international humanitarian organization which provides emergency and long-term medical care to the world's most vulnerable people.
Médecins du Monde (MDM) is operating in Ethiopia since 1986 in different types of health projects. MDM–France invites qualified candidates to apply for the following position:
Duty station: The GBV case worker will be based in Teru Woreda Zone 4,Afar region
Employment Term: 8 Months with possibility of extension
Reported to: Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager based in Teru, Afar region.

The Case Worker will be based at Afar Region /Teru woreda. The overall responsibility of the position holder is to conduct GBV case management activities and strength GBV response referral pathway. She will be under the direct supervision of Program Manager.with technical link with the mission GBV Advisor.
Case workers will provide survivor centered case management services to survivors, including referrals to existing services at the woreda, case action plans and follow up.
She will support updating service mapping on their coverage area coordinate woreda level case management meetings.
Compiling weekly and monthly reports and share to relevant stakeholders and immediate supervisors.
Develop and implement the individual case planning for women in case management.
Ensure regular follow-up of the implementation of the case plan for each clients.
Coordinate with other Protection actors to coordinate implementation of common standards and consideration of protection issues.
Identify additional needs of the survivor and collaborate with other internal and external sectors to meet the needs the survivor.
Provide confidential referral based on the best interest of the survivor to other service providers as part of case management; follow-up to ensure that all the cases adequately receiving needed support once referral has been made.
Educational Qualification
BSc degree in social work, sociology, psychology, public health and relevant field of social sciences.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years’ experience in Gender-based violence and related areas, program/project development and management in emergency context is required.
Experience with other NGO is a plus.
Skills and qualities required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good computer skills: MS Word and MS Excel
Know how to work in a multidisciplinary team
Formalize and communicate professional know-how
Extensive training in the field of GBV
Demonstrable experience in reporting, supervising and training others in a team setting.
Skill to conduct GBV case Management activity in a professional way.
Skill to apply international technical guideline’s and standards in GBV
Languages
Working knowledge of English is mandatory (speaking and writing) good knowledge of Afar language is required and knowledge of Amharic language will be an asset
