Job Overview
Early Recovery Project Gender Officer is responsible for engaging in psycho-social supports of the conflict affected communities in the selected kebeles of Raya-Alamata district, communicate and discuss with the Raya-Alamata District Women and Children Affairs Office in relation to gender balance and women empowerment based activities, facilitating the establishment of women and men Self-Help-Groups building their capacities, weekly basis follow up to the groups organized, facilitating CLA formations and follow up, setting and filing the SHG data, preparing monthly and quarterly reports and submit to the project office/coordinator.
Job duties and Responsibilities
Prepare monthly operation plan submit to the project coordinator
Provide psycho-social support/trauma healing to the ToTs and follow up the progress.
Individual visits to the most traumatized victims and provide counseling services
Work to ensure gender balance in the target communities and HH levels
Follow up the fair selections of target HHs including female headed to be the targets of the project
Facilitate SHG establishment and strengthen their progresses,
Follow up their weekly meetings and savings
Facilitate series of trainings to SHG members
Assist SHGs in their engagements to various business activities and income generating activities/IGAs
Facilitate CLA formation
Work to link SHGs with financial institutions
Searching for market linkages to connect with SHGs/CLAs engaged in businesses
Provide directions to the project staff working as community facilitators at project kebele levels
Build staff team spirit
Any other duties assigned by the project coordinator and project committee

Term of Employment: contract in project period

Education Background and Experience
BA Degree from recognized Colleges/universities in Rural Development, Home Economics, Psychology, Economics
Minimum of a three-year experience in Community development projects with special focus on women and gender based responsibilities.
Experience in field work with local communities
Experience in entrepreneurships
Experience in community works
Experience in rural development activities
Fluent communication skills in local languages and English (listening, speaking and writing)
Skill in team work and interpersonal communication
Skills in training rural communities
Innovation skills in creativities
Skills in handling complaints
Knowledge in Core Humanitarian /Sphere Standards and polices
Knowledge of organizations mission, vision, values and policies
