Job Overview

The Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church Development Commission/EKHCDC is a registered local organization which has been operating long term community development and humanitarian aid and rehabilitation interventions in all regions of Ethiopia since 1974. EKHCDC seeks a WASH and FSL project cashier for the project planned to be implemented at Medega-Tollaa District of East Hararge Zone in Oromia Regional State in order to address the needs of the communities affected by the recurrent drought.

The project cashier is responsible for payments in cash, cash management, undertaking and facilitating authorized payments and collecting payment documents and settlement.

Job duties and Responsibilities

• Performing authorized payments

• Recording of financial documents of the project

• Payment settlements

• Preparing cash registration book and sequential expense record

• Arranging all reasonable and authorized payments (staff salary, taxes and pension, service charges, procurements and others)

• Setting properly/filing financial documents

• Preparing financial report and submitting to project accountant

• Carrying out other duties assigned by project coordinator and management

Duty Position:  Harar town with field visit to Medega-Tolla project intervention Kebeles

Job Requirements

Education background and experience

• BA degree from recognized Colleges/universities in accounting two-year experience in accounting works/financial management

• Careful, faithful and loyal to organizational regulations

Skills

• Fluent communication in multiple local languages and understanding English

• Skills in teamwork and patient
