Information technology (IT) professionals are responsible for the design, development and maintenance of computer systems. They work with a wide range of technologies including software, hardware, networking equipment, databases and more.

The role of an IT professional can vary greatly depending on their employer or industry. Some may be tasked with maintaining existing systems while others may be involved in developing new systems from scratch. Regardless of their specific duties, they all have one thing in common: they’re responsible for ensuring that computer systems run smoothly and efficiently.

Job Duties

• Information technologists have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:

• Creating computer applications to meet users’ needs based on business requirements, coding standards, and industry best practices

• Performing system maintenance activities such as backing up data files and repairing software bugs

• Analyzing data to identify problems or opportunities for improvement

• Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware and software systems including operating systems, applications software, and peripheral devices

• Designing, developing, testing, and evaluating new technologies in support of organization goals

• Providing technology support to other employees within an organization including training on new technologies

• Installing and maintaining network infrastructure such as routers and switches

• Designing, developing, testing, and implementing new technologies and systems in support of organizational goals

• Analyzing and troubleshooting existing computer systems to identify issues with performance or usability

Responsibilities

• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of current and emerging technologies, trends, and standards to support the development and implementation of technical solutions that meet business needs

• Engage with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and pain points, and develop technical solutions that address those needs

• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality technical solutions that are fit for purpose and meet or exceed expectations

• Provide level 2 and 3 support for technical solutions, including incident management, problem solving, and root cause analysis

• Write clear and concise documentation for technical solutions, including user manuals, runbooks, and release notes

• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external IT teams, vendors, and other stakeholders

• Adhere to all relevant IT policies, procedures, and standards

• Comply with all relevant security and privacy regulations

• Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines and budget

• Monitor project progress and KPIs, and report on findings to senior management

• troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities for improvement

• Perform regular system maintenance and upgrades

Work Location: Addis Ababa Bole Tropical Mall 9th Floor In front of Alem Cinema.

Basic Salary 7500 Birr

Job Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field

• In-depth knowledge of network infrastructure, Software coding, and ERP solutions

• Experience with virtualization software, such as VMware and Hyper-V

• Proficient in Windows Server, Linux, and other common operating systems

• Solid understanding of security principles and best practices

• Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS and Azure

• Working knowledge of scripting languages, such as PowerShell and Python

• Familiarity with ERP tools and methodologies

Experience: Graduate after 2014 and 2015.
