Kadisco Paint and Adhesive Industry SC previously known as Kadisco Chemical Industry Plc is a privately owned company located in Addis Ababa in the Akaki Kality Industrial Zone area. Kadisco is a company that traces its origins back from a small automotive parts dealership that was operating in one of the busy streets of Addis Ababa back in late 60’s. During the period until 1975 it had the opportunity to act as the sole distributor for Sadoline Paints. In 1979 it was registered as the sole company to manufacture adhesives and glue. By stages, the company developed into a diversified paint manufacturer.

In February 2015, Asian Paints Ltd and Kadisco Paint and Adhesive Industry SC formed a joint venture for business in Ethiopia and came to be known as Kadisco Asian paints. Asian Paints is India’s leading paint company and Asia’s second largest, with a group turnover of USD 2.7 billion. The group has an enviable reputation in the corporate world for professionalism, fast track growth, and building shareholder equity. Asian Paints operates in 19 countries and has 26 paint manufacturing facilities in the world servicing consumers in over 65 countries.

Today the company produces a full range of paints for the construction, industrial and automotive sectors. It also produces wood and concrete lacquers as well as adhesives for the wood and leather industry.

Position Summary

The Project Sales Manager is responsible for driving the project sales segment, achieving sales targets, and expanding the company’s market share. This role involves developing sales strategies, nurturing client relationships, and leading a high-performing sales team.

Additionally, He/ She is responsible for ensuring the alignment of marketing strategies with the business development strategy within the specified sales segment and geographic area of the company.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive marketing plan for project sales focused units that aligns with the business development aspect.

  • Design and implement loyalty programs at the Asian Paints Global (APG) level, while ensuring customization at the unit level.

  • Create and implement training programs for applicators based on the specific requirements of each market segment.

  • Collaborate with project sales heads to establish an engagement model for influencers, ensuring long-term sustainability.

  • Assist units in devising product pitching strategies by highlighting unique propositions of product and conducting comparative studies against competitors. Collaborate closely with unit marketing and research & technology (R&T) teams to create relevant content.

  • Support the creation of collaterals by identifying the need and working closely with unit marketing teams to design routine and customized materials in both English and Vernacular languages. Monitor their usage at the unit level.

  • Develop and implement a service model for project sales landmark sites across different geographies.

  • Design functional applications, such as loyalty program apps and servicing model apps, to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Establish a comprehensive architecture for product training programs targeting the sales team (both on-roll and off-roll) and technologist team. Implement interventions to track learning progress for both sales and servicing teams.

  • Drive mechanization initiatives in relevant countries to streamline processes and increase efficiency.

  • Review existing project sales servicing models and identify opportunities for improvement, such as enhancing sampling procedures at sites.

  • Setting up on ground capability of project sales team by various capability building program in integration with HR

  • Integration with Sales and Marketing Team/R&T for product development agendas for the units along with delivery on numbers and carving out the pathways.

  • Integration with all the functions to for consistent results

  • Carve out complete business development plan for b2b segment for the focused units.                                                                                                      

Reporting to: General Manager

Functional Relationships: Cross functional Managers

External Relationships: Prospective business partners, agencies, vendors

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience Requirements                    

  • MBA Degree

  • Demonstrated experience working in brand management, along with a minimum of 1 year of experience in B2B segment marketing. 

  • A minimum of 2 years of marketing experience, with a specific focus on retailing and B2B marketing, is highly desirable.

  • Having an engineering background can be an additional advantage.

  • Possessing management and sales experience exhibiting excellent problem-solving abilities.

  • Demonstrating strong leadership and effective communication skills.

  • Superior attention to detail; skills such as analytic; critical thinking; problem-solving; multi-tasking abilities are required in addition to integrity, and honesty.

  • Ability and willingness to work independently and collaborate with teams located remotely.

  • Flexibility and ability to stay effective and motivated in a fast-changing environment.

  • Should have good command in English (Oral & Written).

  • Must be a good team player.

  • The incumbent should be dynamic, well organized, self-driven & have a good personality.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Ability to work under pressure and complete the task within a preset time-frame.

  • Good inter-personal & communication skills.
