Job Description

MeQrez Health Services is a share company incorporated in October 2020 with the aim of strengthening the health sector of Ethiopia. MeQrez is now looking to hire experienced candidates who are visionary to contribute a positive impact in team of MeQrez for a Senior Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse that will primarily be responsible for administering care to newborn infants residing in the NICU, running various medical tests and assist or work with the Specialist and Sub-specialist physicians, General Practitioners, other nurses, anesthetists, laboratory technicians, radiology technologists, and biomedical engineers.

Major Responsibilities of this role:

  • The post holder will work as a senior NICU nurse to provide safe, effective, and efficient patient care while assuring a safe environment for relatives and carers.

  • Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programs of care under indirect supervision from specialist and sub-specialist physicians and general practitioners.

  • Expected to be able to demonstrate procedures supervise junior staff and work without direct supervision.

  • Collaborate with other health care professionals and service providers to ensure optimal patient care.

  • Provide round-the-clock care to premature and severely ill newborn infants.

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to other caregivers to help facilitate their professional growth and development.

  • Prepare reports to document patients' care activities.

  • Caring for the basic needs of infants; for example, feeding and changing diapers.

  • Formulating nursing plans and evaluating the effectiveness of treatments.

  • Offering support to parents and family members and educating them on the at-home care of their newborn.

Salary: - As Per Company scale and benefit package

Place of work: - Addis Ababa

Closing Date: - Seven consecutive days including Saturday from date of this announcement.

Term of Employment: - Permanent up on satisfactory completion of the probationary period.

Job Requirements

Required skills and qualifications

  • Master's or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Midwifery, from an accredited nursing school with licensure from national or regional health bureaus, with at least 2 years of relevant work experience in a hospital or MCH center.
