Job Description
Amref Health Africa is seeking a Content Development Management Lead for its USAID – funded Integrated Youth Activity – Kefeta. It is expected to provide a technical leadership and support for the digital space it created as part of the provision of youth-friendly services.
The Kefeta digital space has five main sections including online training, SBC-related content, a platform for youth to interact with one another, information on job opportunities, mentorship, internships, scholarships, fellowships, and volunteer programs, and information on finances for youth.
This position leads the designing and implementing the development strategy, overseeing the full content management cycle (development, production, uploading, and interaction) on the various platforms of the digital space, and documenting and sharing the program’s progress, innovations, and success stories through meaningful engagement of young people.
Lead the Digital Content Development Strategy and Plan for IYA-Kefeta Project:
Gain and in-depth understanding of the Kefeta project, the digital space strategy, and its objectives and develop a content strategy to manage and optimize content
Design a content strategy and plan to consistently develop, customize and push youth-relevant content on the digital space
Provide reports at regular intervals to the senior management team to demonstrate the performance of content in relation to identified benchmarks
Research content marketing trends to properly understand target youth personas
Track, maintain, and improve the content
Attend content-based meetings to provide guidance and receive input
Lead Content Development for the Various Digital Platforms of IYA – Kefeta:
Lead the development of creative and unique content development from existing Kefeta programmatic content as well as come up with innovative ideas to lead consistent content generation
Work in collaboration with the technical team and youth to produce content
Retouch and customize existing content from the Kefeta archives to give it a fresh touch
Write technical content from the project activities such as training, workshop, etc.
Proofread content and edit the content written by young content creators and writers, and other members of the relevant team and publish it on the web and social media
Overseeing the sharing of content across various social media platforms and website
Stay up to date with various methods to create engaging and attractive content
Analyze the performance of content based on multiple KPIs, such as unique page views, conversation rates, and the average time on page
Identify content setbacks and effectiveness, and determine the best content strategy moving forward
Manage Kefeta Website:
Research, write, and proofread content for the website
Publish finished articles and design article pages on our website
Publish finished articles and design article pages on our website
Ensure the consistency of content and visual presentation
Create infographics when necessary
Develop and follow a content publishing calendar for the website
Use analytical tool trackers to allow to measure web contents reception and performance
Content Marketing and Sustainability:
Establishing and implementing a well-integrated content marketing strategy
Boost the number of social media followers and website visitors with various methods
Cooperating with writers and editors to ensure consistent output
Researching market trends in producing content for Ethiopian youth
Identifying the selling points of Kefeta services for targeted youth
Creating marketing schedules and setting deadlines
Academic Qualification:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field
Required Experience:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in a social media content management and related roles
Strong understanding of digital content creation concepts and tactics
Experience with social media and marketing campaigns
Proficiency with content management systems
Proficiency with MS Office
Excellent knowledge of SEO
Strong copywriting skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly developed creativity
Excellent organizational skills
Highly developed attention to detail
Strong project management skills
Strong analytical skills
Ability to develop original content
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Spoken and written fluency in English and Amharic
