Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Hospital Chef to join our healthcare team. The Hospital Chef will be responsible for creating nutritious and well-balanced meals tailored to the dietary needs and medical conditions of patients. This role requires a culinary professional with a strong understanding of nutrition, exceptional culinary skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to promote the overall health and well-being of our patients.
Develop and plan menus that comply with the dietary guidelines and restrictions of patients.
Collaborate with dietitians and healthcare professionals to create menus suitable for patients with various medical conditions.
Stay informed about the latest nutritional research and guidelines.
Apply nutritional knowledge to create meals that support the healing process and contribute to overall patient well-being.
Prepare and oversee the production of special diets, such as pureed, low-sodium, and high-calorie meals, as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
Ensure compliance with dietary restrictions related to allergies and medical conditions.
Implement and maintain strict food safety and sanitation practices to ensure the health and safety of patients.
Monitor and enforce proper hygiene standards in the kitchen.
Collaborate with the dietary team, including dietitians and nutritionists, to address specific patient needs.
Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to discuss patient progress and adjust menus accordingly.
Conduct regular quality checks on food items to ensure they meet established standards.
Address any issues related to taste, presentation, or nutritional content promptly.
Provide training and supervision to kitchen staff to ensure the consistent preparation of high-quality and nutritious meals.
Foster a positive and collaborative working environment within the kitchen team.
Culinary diploma or degree from an accredited institution.
Certification in food safety and sanitation.
COC Certified
Minimum of 1 years or above experience as a chef in a healthcare or hospital setting.
Strong culinary skills and creativity.
Excellent knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements.
Ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team.
