Position:  -       Senior Specialist App. Development & Data Warehouse

Job Grade:  -      09

Duty Station: -   Head Office

Availability: -     As soon as possible

Job Purpose: - The purpose of a senior application developer is to develop the overall technical design of all application software and for making all technical decisions within software projects including data warehousing software. To design, develop, maintain and enhance new or existing applications, to ensure effective and efficient web and Windows-based software development, system support and troubleshooting of enterprise solutions with high availability and high performance requirements. To provide tier II advanced technical support for all business and corporate applications software and a database that encompasses support and maintenance of headquarter and regional trading centers application software,

SUMMARY OF MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Prepares architectural and low level design for all application software with a support from application developer team

·        Develops programming code and software modifications using appropriate languages and tools to provide responsive and innovative solutions, and new functionality;

·        Reviews and approves documents relating to application architecture, design steps, integration processes and testing procedures relating to each software developed including the installation and maintenance of application software as well as guidelines and standards that should be adhered;

·        Ensures software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility etc.

·        Oversees progress of development team to ensure consistency with initial design

·        Researches, designs, and develops prototypes specific to selected products and technologies to demonstrate utility, productivity enhancements, and cost savings;

·        Works closely with members of the development team to ensure that the software design and implementation meets the architectural goals and quality standards

·        Writes documentation to provide user support for programs and for Production/operating procedures;

·        Develops, maintains and supports associated databases;

·        Analyses user system and application needs, determines and evaluates potential solutions, develop system specifications and requirements, and design application programs to meet the requirements;

·        Designs integrated solutions which may include applications, databases, networks, and related systems;

·        Structures, implements, and maintains database systems. Establish policies, standards and procedures to ensure useful and readily accessible data.

·        Analyses data requirements, develop and document data dictionary, and develop data model

·        Works with business users to elicit business requirements based on project schedule;

·        Develops a software development plan in consultation with the line manager;

·        Proactively communicates progress reports, issues, and risks on each task every week;

·        Work in the data warehouse system as assigned by the department manager

·        Ensures that the necessary software-related support and enhancements are provided to Tickers, SMS, IVR, website, and MIKs

·        Evaluate the produced assessment report to introduce best practice ideas, methods and processes

·        Coaches, Mentors, Trains, and guides junior staff

·        Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 ·        MSc/BSc - Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or other related field.

·        4/6 years relevant IT-related experience out of which 3 years of software development experience
