                Position:  -    Manager Application Development & Data Warehouse

               Job Grade:  -     12

               Duty Station: -   Head Office

               Availability: -     As soon as possible

 Job Purpose: - The purpose of this job is to plan, manage, coordinate, and supervise all activities related to the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of application software and data warehousing system. To provide tier III advanced technical support for all business and corporate applications software and a database, which encompasses support and maintenance of, headquarters and regional trading centers application software.

SUMMARY OF MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Plans, organizes, manages, controls, and monitors the Application Development and Data Warehouse Division to implement efficient and effective enterprise business solutions

·        Maximizes ECX’s business and corporate application software functionality towards 100 %;

·        Ensures that live applications have 0% downtime;

·        Manages all application software-related projects from initiation to completion

·        Initiates, plans and deploys a maximum of 2 complex new feature releases in one year;

·        Proactively communicates progress, issues, and risks on team’s tasks every week;

·        Ensures that the Data warehouse system is 100 % functional all the time;

·        Ensures that all data dissemination software is functional and working as per the requirement;

·        Works with business users to elicit business requirements based on project schedule;

· Evaluate the produced assessment report to introduce best practice ideas, methods, and processes on data warehousing once a year and enforce it;

·        Ensures that the work of the department is being implemented as planned;

·        Develops/updates technical standards, templates, procedures, and guidelines every year;

·        Produces/Updates Technical Architecture Document every 6 months;

·        Serves as mentor and coach to IT application and data warehousing team members;

·        Provides input and leads technical bid evaluations for software-related procurements;

Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor. 

Job Requirements

• MSc/BSc - Electrical/Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, IT Software Engineering and related fields.

• 7/9 years relevant work experience in software development or related areas out of which 3 years of managerial or supervisory positions.
