GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE:
The MIS Advisor is responsible to:
Generate analytical reports from all sources of data to support information requests from top management, program department.
Coordinate the process of generating visualizations products such as dashboards, maps, charts, and infographics that show findings, summarized and customized information to present to top management, advocacy team, other organization’s departments, donors and public Data Quality Control
Support the development of digital data collection systems using CommCare application and generating infographics using Power BI.
Properly support the MEAL team in data management system especially through high engagement of digitizing data collection tools into CommCare for routine monitoring as well as for different surveys and assessments
Description of Functional Relation Ships of the role
The position holder will directly Report to the Head of MEAL. The role will provide technical solutions and support in reporting, data collection and integrity, data analysis, and information management systems and ensure that all processes are in accordance with GOAL standards.
Key Areas of Accountability/Duties
MIS support to Programs and Systems
Support the MEAL team in designing and standardizing surveys and data capture processes to ensure reporting and KPIs are accurate, and information is accessible to a ran of audiences.
Support country programs with form digitization and the development of dashboards (primarily using CommCare and Power BI).
Assist in providing regular technical support for staff on MIS tools or platforms.
Support training and building the capacity of staff on the use of MIS tools including the use of software services for: form digitalization (e.g. CommCare), dashboarding (e.g. Power BI) and other (e.g. ArcGIS).
Data analysis and visualization
Support in the analysis of datasets using dashboarding (e.g. Power BI), statistical (e.g. SPSS/Python) and/or GIS (e.g. ArcGIS) tools.
Share monthly data reports and visualizations for each GE project in alignment with regular Program Review Meetings and learning events.
Contribute to monthly data reports and visualizations, in coordination with the GE MEAL team, to Program leads and SMT in support of adaptive management and the assessment of progress against project, program and country tarts, using statistical and data modelling.
Assist Program staff to identify and respond to trends in already established datasets.

· A bachelor’s degree in computer science, business analytics or another data-heavy field.
· Minimum of 4 years’ experience specifically related to data management and visualization.
· Basic knowledge of statistics and experience working with relational data structures,
· Excellent practical knowledge of ArcGIS software, CommCare and Power BI.
Desirable Requirements
· Experience working with dashboarding software (Tableau, Qlik, Looker), particularly Power BI (highly preferred)
· Experience working with ODK based software (Kobo, Survey CTO, MWater), particularly CommCare
· Knowledge of a programming language (VBA, Java, C), particularly R or Python
· Experience working in the humanitarian or development sectors.
· Knowledge of SQL and of machine learning
