Job Description
DEC is a local CSO established in 2007 and re-registered in May 2019 as per the new Authority for CSO Proclamation by the Ethiopian government bearing a registration number of 0009. The organization has five major programs; Child Well-being and Education Development Program, Gender and Life Skill Development, Employable Skills Development Program, Advocacy, and Humanitarian Emergency Program. DEC actively works in six National Regional States and one city administration of Ethiopia namely Amhara, Afar, Oromia, Tigray, Gambela, Benishangul Gumuz, and Addis Ababa City Administration.
DEC would like to recruit for;
Multisectorial Emergency response project in Dambe Woreda, Kamashi Zone of Benishangul Gumuz Region for the following positions
Major Duties and Responsibilities of WASH Officer
Supporting and implementing all processes related to the development and implementation of WASH MoUs with District Local Governments, communities, and partners
Work in collaboration with consortium partners and donor agencies and act as per the compliance
Supporting in the scope of the project, district stakeholders to develop and implement WASH plans
Developing and Managing Regional and District Partnership with Key government agencies and CSOs, Implementing partners, and implementing various WASH projects.
Strengthening district and community water sources and Community structures for effective WASH service delivery.
Contribute to the development of IEC/ BCC materials
Supporting the development of community-based approaches for delivering Water and Sanitation services
Monitoring WASH activities including WASH service, Distribution of kits, construction and rehabilitation of latrine, and water infrastructures and usages
Supporting community stakeholders in the region and district to adopt and implement appropriate and sustainable WASH technologies, models, and approaches
Participate in national, regional, and district level cluster meetings, workshops, and trainings and share required reports and communication
Report, document, and share WASH best practices and innovations with program/project staffs within indicated periods.
Perform Extern Responsibilities given by immediate supervisor.

Applicants should have:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and excellent awareness about communities, government structure, etc
Good in speaking and writing English and also speaks the local language fluently
Good report writing skills; able to collect documents and share records and information.
Ability and willingness to travel and work in any place where the project is implemented within approved security frameworks.
Basic computer skills and mobile literacy are desirable.ththtshtjtdhtd
Experiences of working in NGOs and communities at the grass root level are advantageous
Experiences in volunteering, community service, and passion for development work are advantageous.
Work experience in productive areas and knowledge of local culture is advantageous
Excellent networking skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
