Job Requirements

Educational Background: BSc in Doctor of Medicine or Health Officer.

Work Experience:

·       Voluntary service in community service is preferred.

·       Experience in hospital or medical center.

Duties & Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of a General Practitioner (GP) or Health Officer (HO) includes but not limited to:

·     Inspecting and updating patients' charts.

·     Diagnosing new cases, admitting and following up chronically ill patients. 

·     Prescribing medications, procedures and provide basic medical advices.

·     Collecting fluid and tissue samples and sending these to laboratories for further testing.

·     Referring patients to specialists for further testing and treatment, if needed.

·     Anticipating and responding to patients' wellness-related questions and concerns.

·     Perform other procedures and diagnosing works as required and ordered by medical director or unit head by keeping the clients and the organization secrets.

·     Daily report all the task accomplished to the medical director or unit head.

General Practitioner Requirements                   

Academic: 

·     Medical Degree.

·     Successful completion of a 3-5 year residency training program.

·     Registration with an appropriate health professions board.

·     Proven experience as a General Practitioner or Health Officer.

·     Adherence to health and ethical codes, including when under duties.

·     Able to present documents including medical degree certificate and student copy.

Communication and interpersonal skills: 

·       Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with patients is essential.

·       The ability to actively listen to patients' concerns and understand their needs is essential.

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial for effectively interacting with patients, medical professionals, and other colleagues.

·       Personable, supportive disposition.

·       Excellent administrative skills.

Computer literacy and technical skills: 

·       Proficiency in using relevant software and technology is crucial.

Empathy and compassion: 

·       Genuine caring attitude towards patients is highly valued.

Ability to work under pressure:

·       Ability to handle multiple calls and manage demanding situations efficiently is vital.

Working hour benefit packages and Misconduct

·       The GP or HO is expected to work with in the working hours of the Mekdoniya Mental Health and Elderly People Rehabilitation Association that is five days per week and 8 hours per day.

·       MG Consultancy will pay net 1,500 ETB (one thousand five hundred birr per month) after reviewing the daily attendance just to cover the transportation costs only. Note that this short term voluntary service is not formal employment process, it just for social contribution purpose.

·       Provide certificate of voluntary service accomplishment or recognition letter from both MG Consultancy as well as Mekdoniya too. 

·       The voluntary service contract will be sign daily by the volunteer and unit head months however, if any misconduct and an appropriate functioning happened during the process of service provision MG Consultancy will immediately   terminate the agreement with the GP or HO with direct consultation of Mekdonia medical director.
