JOB SUMMARY
The primary role and responsibility for the Senior Project Officer is to ensure the overall technical, programmatic and financial coordination of EHF project (Support to conflict-affected IDPs recently returned or relocated in Sheraro, North West Tigray) and also supports other humanitarian projects implementing in the organization. Specific responsibilities include provision of effective technical assistance and team mentoring; facilitation of organizational learning and capacity building; and program development, including fostering strategic partnerships, planning, positioning, publishing, and proposal preparation.
Ensures successful program start-up and implementation, including meeting operational targets and achieving or exceeding performance objectives;
Assesses the need for ongoing technical assistance, support and capacity building,
Provides, or arranges for the provision of technical assistance, mentoring and capacity building utilizing appropriate resources and approaches, ensuring the development and implementation of realistic and effective action plans to address needs;
Leads and fosters organizational learning and cross pollination of promising practices throughout the organization, through sharing of information electronically, via workshops, tool kits, compilation documents, etc.;
Ensures technical quality of donor reports, publications or presentations and mentor staff within the organization.
works with potential partners and collaborators both internal and external to for benchmarking of services.
Performs other duties as assigned and required.
Reports to : Program Department Manager
Number of Position : 1 (One)
Language : Proficiency in English & Tigrigna
Terms of Employment : 10 Months contract with possibility of extension based on availability of budget and performance
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education
BA/MBA/MSc/MPH/PHD in Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, Development studies, Social Works and related fields as per the required projects.
Work Experience
12/10/8 years of relevant experience and more specifically working on humanitarian programs
Skills and Competences
Strategic thinker – proven ability to translate strategic plans into action
Excellent oral and written communications in English
Ability to plan, prioritize and organize self and others
Sympathy with the aims and objectives of OSSHD
