Naflet hotel is a top notch world class hotel located in Adama. Naflet Hotel has opened its door and has been serving its guests since October 2022. To attain its objective, the management of the hotel is looking for talented and passionate hotel professionals for the following vacant positions. We are committed to training and developing our employees so that they can be able to utilize their abilities and skills in order to perform their assigned tasks at top level and they are able to gain needed knowledge and skills for themselves as well.

Prepares the menu, selects special and general dishes.
Decides the theme of the menu and also chooses the décor, cutlery, crockery, accessories, upholstery, etc.
Prepare and analyze recipes to assign prices to menu items based on food, labor, and other costs.
Directly engages himself in the process of food preparation.
He/she has to ensure that all the dishes are prepared on time and hygienic conditions and are maintained.
He/she has to ensure the quality of the dish before it is served.
He/she should have in-depth knowledge about the dish, not just the recipe but also the history and tradition of the dish.
He/she must be able to entertain guests and inform them about the dish and oversee customer relations.
He/she must manage his employees and maintain coordination among their work.
Prepare and plan duty roster and vacation plan to his department employees.
Give support and feedback in a constructive manner to employees under his/her supervision.
He/she must make sure that all the supplies and stocks are maintained in the pantry.
He/she should establish and maintain contacts with vendors.
Check the quality and quantity of products before receiving.
Prepare training plan, design training materials and training methodology, deliver training to his staff and handover the training plan to the hotel HR officer.
Demonstrate new cooking methodologies and equipment to staff.
Collaborate with other personnel to plan and develop recipes and check such factors as seasonal availability of ingredients.
Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to the hygiene, safety and security standards.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
He/she must have sensitive palate and a deep interest and enthusiasm about food.
He/she should be knowledgeable about all the ingredients and their combination.
He/she must be creative and not afraid to experiment with food.
He/she must be organized and be able to handle pressure.
Food presentation and culinary management skills are also important.
He/she should love working with food.
He/she should have basic knowledge of business and management principles.
Have basic knowledge of human resources functions; personnel recruitment, selection, training, motivation, discipline, and compensation.
Diploma or above from recognized university or college in culinary art and a course in hotel management.
Good knowledge of culinary art, nutrition, recipe, and menu designing.
Minimum of ten years’ experience as a chef or soul chef in three- or higher-star hotel.
Good human relation skill and ability to deal with people from diverse backgrounds and has proven people management skill.
Good command of spoken and written English is required.
Knowledge of additional national and international languages is desirable.
Command of computer applications & working knowledge of PEDS or similar software.
Thorough knowledge of the hospitality industry and business
