Position Overview

The Finance Director will be an integral part of our finance department, handling a wide range of financial tasks and supporting the overall financial health of the company. Reporting initially to the Head of Corporate Services and ultimately to the Head of Finance, this role involves managing day-to-day financial activities, ensuring compliance, and enhancing operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development and management of budgets and financial forecasts.

• Tax and Audit Compliance: Lead and ensure stringent compliance with all tax regulations and oversee successful completion of audits.

• Operational Efficiency and Process Improvement: Implement, maintain, and continuously improve efficient financial processes and systems to enhance financial accuracy and productivity.

• Accounts Management: Oversee accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and other daily financial transactions.

• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the finance and accounting team to ensure smooth operation of all finance matters.

• Training and Development: Provide ongoing financial procedure and policy training to staff.

Job Requirements

Desired Skills and Experience

• Significant experience in financial management, preferably in a startup or dynamic business environment.

• Thorough understanding of financial and accounting principles, with a proven track record in financial reporting, budgeting, and tax compliance.

• Experience with financial software such as QuickBooks or Xero.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.

• Strong communication skills, capable of effectively presenting information and responding to questions.

• Experience in importing, manufacturing, and leasing is strongly preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in finance or accounting roles.

• Adaptability and Initiative: Must be comfortable with the rapid change and ambiguity inherent in a startup environment, demonstrating agility and a proactive approach.

• Collaborative Mindset: Ability to work closely with a small, dynamic team, often wearing multiple hats and jumping in where needed to support various aspects of the company.

• Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field

• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferable.

• Prior experience in a finance management role with a focus on tax and audit compliance.

• Proven experience leading Tax and Audit Compliance in a significant revenue environment.
