Job Description

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:  Incumbent is responsible for the handling of all incoming and outgoing correspondences, both written and verbal, telephone calls, messages, appointments…etc. within twenty four hours received from potential clients. Coordinate group room and related function blocks with in-house departments, affiliates, and outside group contacts.  The position holder is also responsible for preparing all event documentation and coordinating with Sales team, property departments and client to ensure consistent, high level service throughout pre-event, event, and post-event phases of property events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: In order to be considered for this position, applicants must

possess the following minimum qualifications. Applicants without the below listed qualifications need not apply as they will not be considered in the competitive pool.

EDUCATION: Degree/Diploma/Level III/in Salesmanship or Marketing or Business management, Hotel Management or Secretarial Science & Office Management is required. Hospitality certifications coupled with relevant work experience is acceptable.

EXPERIENCE:  A minimum of two years relevant experience in sales, promotional activity, customer service or in office environment/administration with customer contact is desired.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATES: Certificate in typing skills and Microsoft environment is desirable.  

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:  Good command of English language skill is required (Excellent Working Knowledge), English language skills, verbal, written, and comprehension to facilitate the communication process.  French, Arabic, or other foreign language is advantageous.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:  The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:

·         Must possess an excellent level of fluency in spoken and written English

·         Ability to work with minimum supervision and multiple assignments

·         Pleasant personality, team player and persuasive,

·         Good proficiency in arithmetic, organizing and coordinating

·         Memo writing skills, drafting of written correspondences

·         Excellent typing skills and ability to work with Microsoft Office environment

·         Good communication skills, able to convey messages to guests and co-workers

·         Working knowledge of food and beverage services

·         Ability to set priorities, coordinate tasks with other departments
