Job Description
Kurmuk Gold Mine Plc (KGM) is a subsidiary of Allied Gold Corp which is a global company with offices in Dubai, UAE and Perth, Australia and has different mine projects in Mali, cote d’Ivoire as well as Ethiopia. KGM is the Ethiopian project with a Large-Scale Gold Mining License and three contiguous Exploration Licenses. All licenses are located in western Ethiopia approximately 750 km from Addis Ababa, or about 90 km north-west of Assosa town in Benishangul Gumuze Regional State.
KGM has been using foreign consultants and local professional support staff to carry out all the exploration and mining activities. The company currently has created job opportunity for more than 200 Ethiopians and expects to employ 1,500 people during the construction and operation of the mining activities.
KGM would like to invite competent, energetic, and qualified applicants for the following vacancy announcement.
General: -
Job Type: Full-time (Permanent after probation period).
Location/duty station: Benshangul Gumuz, Asosa Zone, Kurmuk Woreda Project Site - Fly In/Fly out roster (6/2weeks)
Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Field/Site HR Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing HR functions at the field/site level, ensuring the implementation of HR policies and procedures, and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
Recruitment and Onboarding:
Coordinate the recruitment process for field/site positions.
Conduct interviews and assist in the selection of qualified candidates.
Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires.
Employee Relations:
Act as a point of contact for site employee concerns and grievances.
Promote positive employee relations and resolve conflicts in a fair and effective manner.
Conduct regular check-ins with field/site staff to assess job satisfaction and address concerns.
Ensure compliance with company HR policies and local labor laws.
Conduct regular audits to verify adherence to HR standards.
Provide guidance to management and staff on HR-related matters.
Training and Development:
Identify training needs within the field/site and coordinate relevant programs.
Support the development of career paths for field/site employees.
Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness.
Performance Management:
Implement performance appraisal processes for field/site staff.
Work with managers to set performance goals and provide constructive feedback.
Identify opportunities for employee growth and improvement.
Health and Safety:
Collaborate with safety officers to ensure a safe working environment.
Conduct safety training and movements for field/site staff.
Investigate and report incidents, implementing corrective actions.
Data Management:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
Generate reports on key HR metrics for management review.
Ensure confidentiality and security of HR-related information.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven experience in HR roles, with a focus on field/site operations.
Knowledge of local labor laws and regulations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
