Dodai Manufacturing Plc (Dodai), is a recently incorporated organization launched in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on August 01, 2023. Dodai is a fast growing organization with a mission of making e-mobility accessible to everyone in Africa through its innovative products and services. Dodai plans to provide brand new electric two wheelers by assembling them here in Addis Ababa and plans to expand to major regional cities in Ethiopia by the end of 2024. It’s thus looking to engage dynamic Ethiopian talent to ensure the achievement of its goals. 

Purpose of the position

The Production Engineer at Dodai is responsible for making the production line smooth. S/he will focus on ergonomics, optimizing production processes and continuous improvements of the production line to make it safe, effective and efficient.

Key Responsibilities 

• Develop and implement acquisition systems for data critical to evaluate factory efficiency.

• Continuously analyze production process and identify areas of improvement

• Recommend and implement adjustments to workstations, tools and equipment to improve production 

• Conduct ergonomic assessments of workstations and tasks to identify potential inefficiencies

• Collaborate with the EHS officer to Design and implement ergonomic solutions to improve worker posture, reduce fatigue and injuries 

• Develop and implement methods to increase efficiency, reduce waste and shorten cycle times.

• Evaluate the day to day activities on production line and take the necessary actions to improve it continuously

• Collaborate with other colleagues to optimize workforce and equipment utilization 

• Educate employees on efficient techniques and tools and monitor their performance. Perform other production tasks if required.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related fields

• Minimum 2 year of experience in a manufacturing sectors, preferably in E2W, E3W and vehicle manufacturing 

• Minimum of 1 year experience on a similar position

• Very good understanding of vehicle manufacturing efficiency and tooling

• Thorough understanding of ergonomic principles and best practices

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Good calculation and mathematical skills.

• Hands-on work approach.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
