Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participating in the hiring of new nursing staff and training new hires

  • Supervise staff during shifts.

  • Create a budget for the department.

  • Respond to patients' complaints or concerns.

  • Ensure availability/maintenance of equipment/instruments that may be required for patient management

  • Ensure that any side effects from the prescribed treatment are quickly identified and managed

  • Prepare and present timely comprehensive care and nursing reports as may be required

  • Ensure patient information is treated and handled with highest confidentiality

  • Carry out health education sessions in the department/unit and conduct orientation for newly admitted patients and new staff

  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the departmental heads/management from time to time

  • Performing physical exams and patient observations.

  • Recording patients' medical histories and symptoms.

  • Creating patient care plans and contributing to existing ones.

  • Ordering, administering, and analyzing diagnostic tests.

  • Monitoring and operating medical equipment.

  • Diagnosing health issues.

  • Administering medicine and other treatments.

  • Detecting changes in patients' health and modifying treatment plans, as needed.

  • Consulting with healthcare professionals and families.

  • Training patients and their families to manage and prevent illness and injury

Job Requirements

  • A BSc Degree or above in Nursing Sciences 

  • 5+  years of experience in nursing.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Leadership skills.

  • Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems

  • A sound understanding of all pertinent federal and state regulations

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • A valid nursing license is an advantage
