Background of the Company:

Moyee Coffee stands as the leading multinational coffee roasting company headquartered in Ethiopia, boasting an integrated end-to-end operation across the entire coffee value chain, from crop to cup. All cultivation and roasting activities take place exclusively in Ethiopia. The Moyee Group is actively involved in the production and export of green and roasted coffee, managing coffee farms, lodges, and cafes. Presently, our company is in search of a highly skilled Retail/Operation Manager for its Services Business Unit – Café.

The Retail/Café Operation manager for Café Services plays an essential role in executing the organization's mission by overseeing various aspects of interpersonal communication, information exchange, decision-making, and action implementation. This managerial position involves acting as a prominent leader, resource provider, and liaison with senior management, spokesperson, problem solver, and negotiator. The Operations Manager reports directly to group CEO and is responsible for planning and coordinating activities across multiple Moyee Café locations within the city.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for Moyee Café Services to align with organizational objectives.

  • Formulate strategies to position the Café as a central hub, drawing in customers and boosting company profitability.

Human Resource Management:

  • With Group HR team recruit, select, and onboard skilled and qualified personnel for various roles within the Restaurant and Café operations.

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to build a consistent and efficient team.

Operational Oversight:

  • Supervise the overall organization of Moyee Café locations dispersed throughout the city.

  • Monitor and optimize work processes to ensure efficiency and quality service delivery.

Communication and Liaison:

  • Act as a liaison officer with senior leaders, fostering effective communication and collaboration.

  • Serve as the spokesperson for Moyee Café Services in dealings with internal and external stakeholders.

Problem Solving and Decision Making:

  • Identify challenges and proactively implement solutions to enhance the smooth operation of the Moyee Cafés.

  • Make informed decisions that align with the company's goals and objectives.

Customer Attraction and Profitability:

  • Devise and execute strategies to make a focal point, attracting a diverse customer base.

  • Work towards increasing customer step and enhancing the overall profitability of the company.

Accountability:

  • Report to the Group CEO and Moyee Group senior leadership through providing regular updates on operational activities, challenges, and achievements.

Property administration

  • Ensures that the company's fixed and temporary assets in the in all café are properly recorded, maintained and being used;

  • coordinates with the relevant bodies of the company to carry out a timely inventory of assets

Health and Food Safety

  • Monitors and ensures that the internal and external parts of the restaurant, as well as the working areas, are properly cleaned,

  • Ensures health and food safety rules and protocols are implemented.

  • The Retail/Café Operation manager for Cafés Services is a dynamic and challenging role that requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive operational excellence in a competitive market. The individual in this position will contribute significantly to the success and growth of Moyee's Café Services.

Job Requirements

Required Educational Background:

  • Background in hotel or Cafeteria and restaurant management.

Educational Qualification:

  • Degree in hotel management or related fields.

Required Skills:

  • Readiness to oversee and manage employees during operational hours, including weekends and holidays.

  • Proficient communication skills, including the ability to converse in foreign languages, particularly English.

  • Capability to coordinate and inspire employees as a cohesive team.

  • A positive mindset, attitude, and inclination to provide exceptional customer service.

  • Ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure work environment.

  • Willingness to adhere to the organization's workplace policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating data.

  • Proven skill in report writing.

  • Fluent in spoken & written English, additional language skill is advantageous
