Job Description
Marketing Managers carry out the implementation of efforts related to the marketing operations in a company. They develop marketing strategies and plans by detailing cost and resources needed. They analyse the profitability of these plans, develop pricing strategies, and strive to raise awareness on products and companies among targeted customers.
· Support in the achievement of the M-PESA commercial business plan through participation and coordination of support activities in the trade
· Develop MPESA Merchant/Agent programs to achieve KPI’s as set in the commercial business plan
· Communicate and coordinate Sales Support activities with Regional Sales Manager and Business development executives
· Work with the M-PESA business development team to ensure all M-PESA Agents and Merchants are well branded as per branding toolkit
· Develop and execute a detailed-on ground activations in collaboration with sales team to drive customer education and product awareness across all regions
· Working with Business Development, ensure alignment across the sales team on M-PESA marketing initiatives
· Monitor, link, track and report all MPESA marketing activities against the activities of the sales team.
· Manage the merchandising of MPESA brand within outlets to ensure that visibility is maximized in line with brand strategies and the needs of the market by trade channel and outlet type
· Ensure availability of MPESA PICOS execution materials and merchandise at cluster level
· Ensure BDMs/RSMs are fully aware of trade marketing objectives including ATL & BTL action plans so that effective planning and in-market activities can be implemented in a timely, efficient and effective manner
· Develop the MPESA annual trade marketing (ATM) plan to support execution of the regional commercial plan
· Provide monthly reporting on all MPESA channels trade marketing results& monitor competitor trade marketing activities.
· Conceptualize, develop and roll out BTL activation plans in liaison with the relevant department and/activation agency or regional team
· Effective management of agencies to ensure delivery as per agreed deliverables
· Responsible for the quality of work done in all channels by suppliers appointed for any trade marketing activation. Also responsible for the evaluation of the suppliers.
· Work closely with our business partners (Master Agents) to ensure they keep to branding guidelines
· Ensure visibility for the M-PESA brand in the market as per set branding guideline.
· Support development of regional trade marketing budget monitor& control the sales promotions budget
· Manage M-PESA budgets set aside for trade marketing
· Manage all M-PESA events across the regions
· Ensure that the sales team have all required activations materials and managing marketing support and sales promotional materials.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
· Degree in a Business-related field.
· Post graduate certification in Sales & Marketing will be an added advantage.
· Very strong focus on Customer insights and proven ability to combine numbers and analytics to understand, predict and influence customer behavior
· Intermediate knowledge of business finance principles is essential.
· 5 years hands on experience in Sales, Marketing or Trade development
· Experience in Sales Distribution, Activations agency will be an added advantage.
· Highly results and performance oriented.
· Excellent team player.
· Developing external partnerships and strategic alliances.
· Excellent Negotiation/Influencing and Presentation skills.
