The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation in Ethiopia is looking to hire an experienced, highly motivated and qualified person to fill the position of Finance Clerk (Documentation) based in Addis Ababa.

Term of employment - fixed term contract until 31st December 2024 with the possibility of extension based on budget to be available for the position.

GENERAL DUTIES

  • Understands and adheres to the seven Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement,

  • Understands and adheres to the ICRC Code of Conduct,

  • Understands the roles of the components of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement,

  • Respects and observes staff regulations and security rules at all times,

  • Represents the ICRC in a professional manner at all times,

  • Develops and maintains a pleasant and conducive working environment with colleagues and line managers,

  • Performs all duties with the highest level of confidentiality in the interest of the employees and the ICRC,

  • May be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when necessary.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collect financial documents & ensure that the documents are complete and accurate.

  • Review the financial documents according to the rule on financial management documentation checklist.

  • Arrange the documents according to the internal guidelines.

  • Maintain a clean and organized archive for original copies.

  • Scan and digitize documents on the designated platform.

  • keeping the hard copy and arranging for disposal according to the policy and needs of the organization.

  • Make digital copies of the documents available for audit on time.

  • Identify irregularities of financial documents and other issues and immediately report to direct supervisor.

  • Provide Training for the delegation users and remain a focal point.

  • Promote the digitalization of financial documents in the delegation and contribute to the environment. 

Job Requirements

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma in library science, archives management, ICT, or a related field,

  • Experience in document handling and archive with a minimum experience of 2 years and above.

  • Proficiency in scanning and digitizing software,

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills,

  • Strong attention to detail,

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team,

  • Experience in a related organization is an added value.
