Habesha Breweries S.C. is looking for a Corporate Affairs Manager.

The Role Summary:

The Corporate Affairs Manager is responsible for the internal and external communication aspects of the business. Internally create strategies to increase employee awareness and promote productivity and externally communicate with the media and other stakeholders such that they know what Habesha is trying to achieve and discuss organizational changes in a way that maintains the positive image of the company. Besides, responsible for coordinating the communications output within and outside the company.

Result areas & responsibilities

Internal/ Employee communication

  • Developing an internal communication plan to drive engagement, alignment, and understanding of Habesha’s strategy and priorities. 

  • Ensure employees are kept informed and motivated. 

  • Leads the creation, editing, content development, layout, and production of internal newsletters. 

  • Building strong working relationships with other internal teams and individuals and providing communications consultancy advice to all departments.

Media/Public relation

  • Maintain current contact details of relevant journalists.

  • Assisting with the design and development of a media relations strategy that promotes, protects, and builds on Habesha’s reputation and ensures alignment with Habesha’s strategies and priorities.

  • Creating a positive media profile and positioning.

  • Prepare media statements.

  • Respond to media inquiries.

  • Drafting and distributing news releases using a combination of traditional and social media

Crisis Management 

  • Participates in the Emergency Response

  • Identify activities/events in the market & social research industry that are likely to become media issues.

  • Recommend strategies to manage the issues, including identifying appropriate responses and communication channels.

Strategic Planning – Communications 

  • Design corporate communication strategy and plan;

  • Assist with the development of communications policies and plans for internal and external communications.

  • Ensuring efficient and effective use of communications channels reviewing and updating to meet audience requirements.

Speech Writing

  • Research speech subject matter

  • Preparing or writing speeches for authorized spokespersons as required

Job Requirements

Education and Experience

  • MA/BA Degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field of study.

  • 6 years of relevant experience

  • Excellent English and Amharic verbal and written skills

  • Team player and easy to work with personality.

  • Strong time management skills

  • Have the intelligence to anticipate challenges and the resourcefulness to find solutions to communications challenges.
