People in Need is a non-governmental, non-profit organization founded on the ideals of humanity, freedom, equality and solidarity.
People in Need was established in 1992 by a group of Czech war correspondents, journalists and activists and has grown to become one of the largest non-profit organization in Central and Eastern Europe.
Throughout our 30 years of existence, People in Need continues to engage in humanitarian aid, development cooperation, education and social inclusion.
We have been operating in Ethiopia since 2003, working in five regions; Oromia, South Ethiopia, Central Ethiopia Region, Sidama and Tigray in different multi sectoral projects in the areas of development and emergency response.
People in Need, from the very start of its operations in Ethiopia, has focused on projects in five main areas of interest: Education, Agriculture, Climate and Environment, Water and Social protection.

PIN currently is seeking energetic, disciplined, responsible Two Field Officers for the project entitled “Agriculture Systems Adaptation Program in Reqame Watershed, Halaba and Silte”
PIN currently invites applicants for the position of Field Officer
Length of Contract: Definite until December 31/2025
Place of Work: - Based in Sankura Wereda and Halaba Zone with frequent travel to PIN’s project sites in different regions as required.
Salary: 19, 130
The Field Officer (FO) is fully responsible for the successful implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the project activities and outputs. FO is also responsible for achieving the specific results of the project in proper quality and time. The FO works under supervision of a Field Coordinator, and collaborates with woreda government Officials, Development Agents (DAs), Kebele administrative, community and other PIN staffs. As per contract of employment, the FO is accountable for the regulation and rules of PIN including core values of the organization.
Project Requirements
Participate in the preparation of project plan, baseline surveys, studies, monitoring and evaluations through collecting data, mobilizing community;
Prepare action plan for the implementation of project activities according to the log frame and timeframe of the project;
Implement and monitor project activities on the regular basis;
Prepare and submit weekly plan and progress reports to supervisor on time;
Attain adequate results in proper quality and in time;
Follow security rules and enforce the security rules with the project team;
Ensure visibility of PIN among the communities and government staff (DAs);
Ensure maintenance of good personal relations to beneficiaries, government staff (DAs), project team and partners;
Document copies of every steps of project activities like list of beneficiaries, distribution list, agreement, attendances, minutes, bylaws, and any necessary documents;
Prepare the best practices and success stories; prepare photo documentations for the implementation of each project activities;
Participate on regular project team meetings and providing necessary feedbacks and suggestions for the improvement of project quality;
Capacitate Watershed Management Committees and DAs and create awareness of the project to attain successful implementation of the project
Prepare Purchase request as per the Annual purchase plan;
Collect the procure materials from PIN on time ensuring the quality of the items as per specification of approved purchase request and plan;
Distribute the items purchased by the project to beneficiaries, FTCs, Woreda offices as per the plan and receive the necessary distribution list, goods receiving voucher for the items delivered and submit to PIN Logistics/Finance unit
Facilitate the payments to training participants, etc;
Other assignments corresponding to actual needs of the mission, program and project
Substitute other Field Coordinator during on absence while assigned by the Project Manager
Understand and adherence to PIN procurement guidelines
Understand and Adhere to all donor’s and PIN’s guidelines and policies
Accountability and Safeguarding including Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (SEAH)
Carry out the duties in accordance with the PIN Code of Conduct and Key policies.
Participate in training and awareness raising (CoC and KP, Safeguarding…).
Ensure that his/her team members attend training and awareness sessions and carry out the duties in accordance with PIN Code of Conduct and Key policies.
Ensure that due diligence and/or capacity assessments of partners include an assessment of partners’ implementation of key safeguarding and risk policies/ procedure including the prevention of SEAH.
Create and maintain a fulfilling and protective environment.

Degree in the field of NRM, Climate Resilience, Watershed Management, Agriculture, CSA, or other related field of studies
At least 3 years’ Experience in NRM/Climate Change Related, PCM, Community Mobilization, Data collection and Analysis, Survey, Assessment, Training Provision, Computer Skill, Reporting Writing Local Language and Field Activity Coordination
