Purpose of the Job:

Horra is currently seeking a highly experienced legal professional to join our team and work closely with the company top management in coordinating legal matters of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.     Plan and coordinates legal activities of the Enterprise.

2.     Represent the Enterprise before any courts of law, quasi-judiciary bodies and administrative tribunals.

3.     Provides legal advice and counselling to all organizational components of the Enterprise.

4.     Advice personnel policy and procedures of the Enterprise are in conformity with the labour law, collective agreement and other pertinent laws of the country.

5.     Drafts and interprets all contracts, agreements and legal documents as to their legal sufficiency and protection of the interests of the Enterprise and as per the contract management policy.

6.     Collect and present an up-to-date file of legal notices, proclamations, legal codes and other legal documents.

7.     Participates in investigation of thefts, forgeries and misappropriations involving the Enterprise's property or funds and advice appropriate legal actions for the rectification thereof.

8.     Provides advice and guidance to stakeholders on the technicalities of complex legal issues.

9.     Conducts legal research and makes necessary preparation regarding collective agreements.

10.  Knowledge of Collective Labour Agreement and Proclamation, Internal Regulations and Safety policies of the Company

11.  Advise the company senior  management member legal related issues

12.  Advise concerned bodies during a formation of new company, merger and liquidation of business

13.  Manage any legal process during the establishment new company or business ;

14.  Providing necessary consultancy in issues related to Tax Law, Criminal and Civil Code for the organization

15.  Perform any other tasks given by the line manager

Job Requirements

Job Specification

●      Education Qualification: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Law.

●      Work Experience: A minimum of 8 or 6 years of demonstrated work experience in the subject position for candidates with a bachelor’s and master’s degree respectively.  

●      Demonstrated experience in criminal code, civil code & labour proclamation.

●      Good problem-solving skills.

●      Female candidates are highly encouraged to apply.

●      Excellent communication in Amharic, English and Afan Oromo.
