Pepsico/ Senselet Food Processing is a potato processing company in Ethiopia producing potato chips. It has been set up in accordance with European standards and knowledge and produces high quality potato crisps, branded as Sun Chips, that are sold locally in the Ethiopian market.

About the Role

The primary role of the technical operator is to run and production machineries at rated capacity in a safe manner, while delivering the right quality at all times.  The position holder shall be knowledgeable on assigned area, execute CILT activities on production machineries, eliminate unplanned stoppages to deliver true and net efficiencies and prioritizes safety and quality in all activities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment for self and other employees, according to the applicable statutory, PepsiCo and local regulations, policies and procedures

• Reports specific safety risks in daily work, and implements improvement actions

• Participates in and promotes company EHS campaigns to ensure personal safety and of colleagues at all times

• Maintains Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in area of responsibility

• Implement food safety requirements and procedures at all times

• Takes immediate appropriate action and report food safety management system related problems to the right person/s

• Ensures compliance to product quality targets, including food safety and hygiene.

• Applies HSSE, GMP and control 5S standards and practices

• Executes production process according to the plan at the right TE and NE levels

• Executes start-up, operation, shutdown, weekly cleaning and other production SOPs

• Read manuals, be knowledgeable on multiple machineries and equipment

• Executes CILT

• Troubleshoots deviations and participates in productivity initiatives

• Updates production performance timely on the right platforms

• Controls quality of products coming out of machineries, like seal quality, date coding, frying, seasoning, etc

• Collects and analyzes production data

• Prepares and manages raw materials for operation and maintains its quality

• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Work Location: SFP Factory, Bulga City - Tulofa

Job Requirements

Education:

• TVET level 4 and above in machining, workshop technology, electronics and other related technical field of studies

Experience:

• 2-4 years and above in machine operations

Soft skills:

• Able to speak, read and write in English, & Basic use of computer applications
