Position: Network  Administrator

Job Grade: 7

Duty Station: Addis Ababa/Head Office

Availability: As Soon As Possible

Job Purpose: - The purpose of the job is to administer the entire ECX network such as local area network (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), WLAN, Voice Networks and VPN ; to prevent and fix advanced network problems and supporting a number of teams and individuals; to assist the Manager IT Infra & Support involving in  a wide array of operational tasks like designing, planning, implementing and document overall ECX network infrastructure that help a network to run smoothly and efficiently and prepare periodical reports.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensures the  ECX HEAD OFFICE Trading floor  network,  ECX HEAD OFFICE LAN,  the Internet and data  links,  the ECX’s primary data Centre network infrastructure, ECX’s Disaster recovery (DR) site network, ECX Wireless network ,ECX’s Voice  network such as Telephone and the like are properly functioning  , secured and Highly available

• Ensures all published services such as corporate email, Trade application, WEB and others are accessed  and secure

• Ensures the ECX-Bank interface MPLS VPN network is  properly functioning , optimized, highly available, and secured

• Ensures the ECX-Authority WAN  and ECX HEAD OFFICE - EACWASE Branches’ WAN are properly functioning,Highly available and secure

• Ensures ECX’s video networks,such as surveillance cameras networks are working properly and secured

• Ensures that The Regional Trading Centres LAN and  HEAD OFFICE-Regional Trading Centres WAN,VPN are working properly,

• Ensures the proper functioning of the ECX Network infrastructure and its devices at all time on working and non-working hours, locally and remotely

• Participates on  Network Infrastructure projects from initiation to full implementation as assigned by the immediate supervisor;

• Serve as mentor and coach to co-workers 

• Updates ECX’s Network infrastructure architecture and ensure complete integration;

• Participates in system/project testing, rollout and certification with other IT unit;

• Works as part of a team providing 3rd line support for incidents and requests on IT Infrastructure issues, either directly or indirectly;

• Regular backups and restores process; monitors devices/software licensing and usage;

• Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

• MSc/BSc, Electrical/Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, and related fields.

• 2/4 years of relevant experience in Network Administration related experience

Certification or License Required

• Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, CCNP Security),Cisco or other vendor Voice or telephony  Microsoft (MCSA, MCSE), Unix/Linux
