Job Description
The Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the factory on a full-time basis. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager, which will work with the Operational Manager to implement the factory’s standard operating procedures and food safety standards. The position is flexible in working night shifts and overtime shifts.
RESPONSIBILITY:
As a Shift Production Supervisor, the employee is required to perform the following duties and undertake the following responsibilities in a professional manner.
Lead successful day-to-day operations of the facility to meet all customer requirements in a safe, high quality, on-time and profitable way
Determine and document quality control standards
Work to develop and maintain the highest quality product in all parameters including taste, texture and color
Assess project and resource requirements (for example, matching different products profiles to the customers’ wants and needs)
Plan and organize production schedules
Ensure that health and safety regulations are met
Manage raw materials, packaging materials, and final products.
Consult on hiring the necessary personnel
Monitor the production equipment to make sure that it stays in good working order, and to notify when there needs to be a repair or replace the equipment when needed
Manage the production and achievement of production targets
Coordinate and work with other management operators to ensure that the food safety management system is established, implemented and maintained effectively and efficiently
Train skilled and unskilled employees for all functions of the company’s manufacturing facility, and coordinate work schedules
Design and implement best practices so that workers achieve consistent production and product quality to match and exceed customer specifications
Implement systems and procedures to ensure efficient operation of manufacturing operations of the factory
Track and optimize costs
Analyze line performance /efficacy/ of labor performance and plan down time analysis and take corrective action plans to this
Maintain all necessary records to ensure effective monitoring of the manufacturing process in the factory
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production reports and send them to the direct supervisor
Responsible for maintaining proper staffing levels, employee performance evaluations, discipline, and employee commendation
Coordinate with all the supporting departments in achieving target efficiency and reducing cost of operations
Provide direction, development and leadership to factory supervisors and key staff and assist with problem resolution when needed.
NUMBER OF SHIFT QUALITY SUPERVISOR REQUIRED: TWO (2)
QUALIFICATION:
BSc Degree in Food Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Food Technology, Food Science or other relevant field of study
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 2 year of experience in production supervisor/ Shift leader in manufacturing company preferably in Food manufacturing.
