Brief Introduction

REACH Ethiopia is a non-profit local organization established and registered as an Ethiopian Residents Charity. It strives to contribute to community development through the implementation of innovative and targeted project interventions to deliver quality health services for disadvantaged communities. Since its establishment in 2013, REACH Ethiopia has implemented community-based TB care interventions and integrated health service projects in Sidama, SNNP, and parts of Oromia Regions.

REACH Ethiopia is currently seeking a short-term consultant who can work as a data encoder who is responsible for converting raw data into a format that an organization’s system can use.  Additionally, the consultant will scan both the organization's and its project’s documents and save them in a database in an organized form. Data encoders sort and process data and ensure that data and documentation are properly filled and stored.

The Role:

• Monitor data entry accuracy and completeness. 

• Scan all project and organization documents and store them in the organization database.

• Prepare, compile, and sort documents for data entry. 

• Enter data and documents into the computer system using a variety of software packages. 

• Verify the accuracy of data entered into the system. 

• Update existing data and delete unnecessary files. 

• Maintain logbooks and databases to record pertinent data. 

• Compile totals of weekly, monthly, and yearly data entries 

• Trace any discrepancies in data received and report them to the appropriate department. 

• Ensure accurate files to support the organizational database preparation.

• Other tasks assigned.

• Understanding of data structures and algorithms.

• Familiarity with the various security protocols and encryption methods used to protect sensitive data.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a relevant field.

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.

• A minimum of two years of NGO work experience is plus.

• Outstanding analytical and time management skills.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
