Our company – Yetem Trading PLC has been engaged in trading business since 1983 E.C. and owned a cosmetics house that supplies and distributes different brands. Yetem Trading has its extensive customers base from all over Ethiopia, and has created an assortment of collections that has gained it’s reputation to be the leading name in the cosmetics sector.

Currently we are investing to establish a manufacturing unit of personal care cosmetics and plastic. The company owns 5000 Sqm plot manufacturing facility in Sheger City Administration which is at 4 km North of Addis Ababa at specific place called Sululta. We installed technologically advanced machines and we are on the verge of starting production

• Ensures the Quality control activities of the company

• Ensures the quality Assurance and system alignment of the company

• Ensure company’s compliance with all relevant environmental standards and regulations.

• Manage quality assurance and quality control of all raw material and finished goods.

• One of the tasks is to act as Management Representative of the company in the implementation of ISO.

Detail Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure that the quality control system of all raw materials and finished products is in place and tests are performed in the specified frequency and according to the companies’ specifications/standards

• Ensure that all quality control tests are done on raw materials as well as finished products as per the procedure.

• Ensure that records are made for every quality control tests.

• Ensure that consistent and traceable batch numbering system is followed.

• Ensure that batch samples are obtained and stored. As well as their results recorded in the database.

• Manage the product domestication process of each product.

• Work on cost minimization of raw materials and production process. And asses the availability of local raw materials for substitution of imported materials.

• Work on modification and development of products according to the local market conditions.

• Implement and follow up the Product Creation Process in support and guidance of the Production and R&D Manager for each product.

• Facilitate QC meetings and upload minutes in the System for filling and traceability.

• Give technical support for customers regarding product application.

• Lead the work flow and personnel in the QC, QA Department

• Manage the lab and all activities performed in it.

• Coordinate product performance tests on a regular basis and record results on the system.

• Supervise the analysis of raw materials and communicating results to production and R&D department

• Planning of the detail activities of the department

• Maintain the Concrete Laboratory equipment, samples and records in a clean and orderly manner as required by ISO, according to laid down procedures.

• Ensure effective and efficient communication of necessary information to the Marketing and Production Mangers by means of regular report backs.

• Assist/training Factory with new plant trials and reworking sub standards.

• Investigating and following through on product quality related non-conformance and customer complaint.

• Develop and validated test methods.

• Source and qualify laboratory equipment.

• Develop or conduct programs of sampling and analysis to maintain quality standards of raw materials, chemical intermediates, or products.

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience:

• BSc or MSc degree in in Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering

• 8 years for Bachelor and 6 years for Master's holders experience in a manufacturing setup as QA QC Head, or related responsibilities in cosmetics, soap and detergent and related areas. Out of which at least 4 years’ experience in managerial role leading production, quality control or quality assurance.
