Job Description

The Opportunity

The post holder, will coordinate BHA project at Oromia Regional level and ensure that projects are implemented in target locations as per the agreement entered with government stakeholders and signatory offices. He/she will be providing hands-on guidance, support, mentoring and coaching to frontline staff including Coordinators Officers, and Social Workers etc to ensure smooth and quality implementation of the project.

Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)

  • Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.

  • Ensures that all staff signed safeguarding policies;

  • Implement Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day to day work.

Job Requirements

Qualifications/ experience essential:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (MA preferred) in Sociology, Psychology, Social Worker, Community Development, Law, Political Science and related fields at least 7+ years of relevant experience out of which 3 years’ experience with NGOs.

  • Knowledge of the child protection in emergencies sector including protection risks and response interventions.

  • In-depth knowledge of project cycle management and child centred community development programming.

  • Knowledge of development and humanitarian issues, trends, challenges and opportunities and implications to child protection.

  • Knowledge of child protection in emergencies standards, principles and procedures.

  • Knowledge of effective participatory monitoring and evaluation systems and processes.
