Job Description
Job Purpose:
To assist the ICT manager in the provision technical support with the implementation, management, maintenance, and development of IT policies, regulations, and guidelines in Addis Ababa and field offices.
Providing regular IT support on a roving basis to each programme area.
End User Support and Capacity Building
Assist in investigating problems reported and take corrective action as appropriate.
Escalate problems and liaise with the ICT manager to request further support
Assist users with file management system, staff training and capacity building.
Liaise with HR in relation to the on-boarding of new staff and carryout inductions as delegated by the ICT manager.
Technical Support
Provide users with ongoing assistance in their information technology problems
Assist in Implementation and support of IT systems &network installations in accordance with Organizational set policies and procedures
Undertake hardware moves between sites and offices as directed
Implement hardware and software upgrades as directed
Implement, monitor and support backup and data recovery as requested
Asset Management
Maintain asset register of IT equipment – hardware, software, radio and network equipment
Track and control the movement of equipment between sites and temporary off site
Track and control equipment being added to the network by visiting staff and consultants ensuring compliance with procedures for such movements and data exchange
Keep a file of maintenance and support contracts.
Keep a schedule and log of maintenance work completed by contractors.
Maintain a schedule of hardware and software upgrades (e.g. virus protection) and ensure all PCs are kept up to date with operating systems patches and antivirus software .
IT Administration
Liaises closely with IT users and Field Management, Helpdesk and ICT manager

Personal specification
Essential:
Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
3 years of relevant work experience for diploma holders
1-year relevant work experience for first degree.
NGO experience is a plus. Skills Required.
Fluent in spoken & and written English
Good communication and report-writing skills
Competency
Desirable:
Excellent networking, representation and coordination and negotiation skills with government and other agencies.
Flexible, reliable, culturally sensitive
The ability to work in teams/ isolated situation and stressful environments and under pressure meeting deadlines.
Initiative and be able to work with minimal supervision
Managing finance, Logistics and transport/or HR and Administration.
Good administrative skills
Good communication and report writing skills
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written English.
Good interpersonal skills and team player with sensitivity to cultural diversity
Ability to work under pressure
An awareness of appropriate action including reporting and documenting concerns safely and seeking advice. Particularly if uncertain whether a safeguarding need is present
