Job Summary

As a Senior Mechanic you will be involving in the installation, troubleshoot, repair, document and maintain mechanical components associated with production and auxiliary machineries, directs the work of shift mechanics and maintenance staff on projects and operation as part of a collaborative team to support the achievement of the company’s business goals and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled or required on production and auxiliary equipment and machineries as recommended by the manufacturer and on site safety programs.

• Make periodic inspection tours to check all recycling machineries functioning properly.

• Developing, reviewing, updating, modifying, and approving mechanical maintenance plans and work schedules.

• Responsible  for leading the troubleshooting, repairing and modifying production and facility mechanical equipment and components according to safety, productive maintenance systems and processes.

• Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance on a wide range of machinery and equipment.

• Carry out a diagnosis of faults, the maintenance and repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe, timely and professional manner and return equipment to operational service.

• Lead and perform varied mechanical duties such as dismantling, moving, cleaning, repairing and installing facility machineries.

• Lead and supervise a team of mechanics, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring work is completed on time with high-quality standards.

• Assist in training, developing mechanical work force and assist in managing in the shop floor.

• Plans and Identify spare part requirements in advance and communicates to immediate supervisor for checking and purchase request.

• Follow all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines.

Job Requirements

Competencies

• Ability to identify and solve complex mechanical problems

• Ability to creativity ,innovations  and modifications of different equipment of machinery

• Hands on experience in plastic recycling machineries mechanical maintenance is a plus

• Planning and coordination

• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills

• Good time-management skills

• MS office/AutoCAD

Qualification:

• TVET (10+4)/Diploma or above in general mechanics, fabrication, manufacturing or related field of study or

• BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience:

• 10+years for TVET/diploma or 8+years of experience for BSc degree holders in the manufacturing industry, out of which 4+ years of experience in senior mechanic position

• Experience in plastic manufacturing is preferred.
