Duties and Responsibilities:

Project management, coordination, implementation, and monitoring

  • Effective coordination and implementation of project activities aimed at encouraging community climate resilience with a focus on ecosystem-based solutions and ensuring there are successful climate mitigation and adaptation initiatives, focusing on nature/ecosystem-based solutions

  • Maintain quality implementation and monitoring of activities

  • Timely coordination, consultation, and communication with technical specialists and direct reports to ensure smooth & quality implementation of the activities.

  • Prudently manage project budget and financial compliance of the grant.

High Quality of Documentation

  • Ensure reports are submitted in a timely manner meeting reporting requirement

  • Manage the coordination of project assessments and evaluations

  • Present Regular progress reports at appropriate meetings

  • Submit monthly reports

Representation & Networking

  • Representation and networking at donor meetings/joint agency assessments or studies and within communities

  • Develop and maintain links with NGO’s Local Level authorities

  • Develop and maintain donor relationships for adequate funding needs and discussions on utilization 

  • Coordinate and communicate donor visits efficiently with management and effectively host donor visits

Capacity Building & team management

  • Provide leadership to train and build field staff capacity

  • Train project staff on community mobilization and partner networking skills.

  • Train project field staff on how to take good photos and write good field stories/most significant change stories.

  • Train field staff on how to develop their monthly work plan

  • Conduct monthly learning and reflection sessions

Job Requirments

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION/SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture / Tropical Agriculture.  Any knowledge of climate-smart agriculture and tropical agriculture is preferable.

  • Diploma qualifications in Project Management

  • 5 years or more experience in community development or in a relief and development setting with project management experience.

  • Experience working and networking with partners in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville is a bonus

  • Experience in project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and report writing

  •  Good interpersonal skills and cross-cultural sensitivity.

  • Computer literate
