PATH currently seeks an to recruit an IT Associate who will be responsible for providing effective and efficient technical support to ensure the smooth functioning of the organization's information technology systems at PATH Ethiopia Country Office. The IT Associate will work with the larger International IT team in driving the use of technology in the organization, helping implement IT standards and policies, and providing technical support and solutions to meet the needs of the organization. The role will support the network infrastructure, end user support, management of software applications, hardware equipment among other routine IT tasks. The incumbent will be reporting to the Lead Regional Systems Administrator and to be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Responsibilities:
User Support
Provide first-level support to end-users, addressing hardware and software-related issues.
Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, and other computing devices.
Respond to user inquiries and troubleshoot problems via phone, email, or in-person.
System Maintenance
Perform routine system maintenance tasks, such as updates, patches, and backups.
Monitor system performance and address issues to ensure optimal functionality.
Collaborate with the IT team to implement upgrades and enhancements.
Network Support
Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of network infrastructure.
Help configure and manage routers, switches, and other networking equipment.
Participate in the implementation of security measures to protect the organization's data and network.
Software Support
Install, configure, and update software applications.
Provide support for common business applications and assist users with software-related issues.
Collaborate with vendors to resolve software-related problems.
Documentation
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for IT processes, procedures, and configurations.
Create user guides and documentation to assist end-users with common tasks.
Training
Conduct training sessions for end-users on basic IT procedures and best practices.
Keep abreast of new technologies and provide recommendations for improving IT processes.
Collaboration
Collaborate with other IT team members on larger projects and initiatives.
Work closely with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide appropriate solutions.
Asset management
Assist in maintaining ICT inventory log of all hardware and tracking hardware needs projections for planning purposes.
Ensure users are fully signed out of all equipment received and returned.
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science or any related field
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, CCNA Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) are a plus.
Working knowledge of Meraki Cloud required.
At least 2 years of work experience in Information Systems implementation and network infrastructure support and maintenance.
End user support experience including hardware and software experience setup, installation, and troubleshooting.
Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft PC operating systems, Office 365, Windows Server Administration, and networking technologies.
Good communication skills.
Flexibility with working hours.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Candidates must have legal authorization to work in Ethiopia.
