Job Description
The Counselor is responsible for undertaking case management. Individual case assessment and preparing intervention plans, provision of counselling, therapy and/or psychotherapy services for children in conflict with law, children on the move, children on the street, trafficked and sexually abused children, and their families as appropriate to the position; prepare treatment plans, discharge plans, and follow-up care programs; provides therapeutic crisis intervention and emergency services as required. Besides, cooperate with the project team in preparing and implementing of discharging and post discharge (integration), follow-up activities until client successfully integrate into the community.
Competency Requirements:
Well organized and ability to act in a professional and ethical manner,
Ability to communicate effectively with target groups, staff and other stakeholders and promote ateam approach in the area program office to successfully implement project and the organization mission,
Good conceptual understanding of human behavior and tolerate cultural diversity and ensure confidentiality of his/her client
Able to operate basic computer skills, report writing skills, excellent written and oral communication skills,
Firm in gender equality, sensitivity to HIV/AIDS, transparent and participatory
Education: MA/BA in Social work, Sociology or any other related field of social science.
Experience: 4/6 years of relevant work experience for MA/BA respectively, preferable in an NGO environment.
Number of Position: one (1)
Terms of employment: One year contract with possibility of extension based on performance and the availability of fund.
Duty station: Dire Dawa
