Job Summary

The Material Scientist position requires practical experience in Material Science, particularly with a focus on plastic assessment and recycling. The role emphasizes a focus on the performance and property of various types of plastics in diverse conditions. The ideal candidate will apply material science and contribute to the advancement of our product and technology. The responsibilities will also include participating in research and development projects, collaborating with cross functional teams, and sharp focus on quality assurance and compliance of our products.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyze compositions of existing products to improve and optimize their functionalities.

• Collaborate in research and design to develop new products that meet project requirements and industry standards.

• Collaborate with engineers and designers to identify material requirements for specific applications and develop solutions accordingly.

• Stay current with advancements in material science and related technologies to contribute innovative ideas to projects.

• Provide technical expertise and support in troubleshooting and resolving material-related issues.

• Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and technical documentation.

• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in all research activities.

Job Requirements

Competencies & Skills

• Proven experience in material science research, with a focus on the development and characterization of plastics.

• Proven experience in establishing and maintaining rigorous quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.

• Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively.

• Familiarity with the construction industry is a plus.

Qualification Required

• Master’s Degree in Material Science or a related field with 3-5 years of relevant experience.

• Language required – English, Amharic
