Brief Profile of the Company:

Established in 2021 by Skillmart Educational Development SC, SKILLMART ACADEMY is a Kindergarten School currently located at Kotebe 1 Fermata, adjacent to Woreda 12 Health Center operating with the aim of providing quality education. As part of its plan in diversifying its services in terms of quality and coverage, the Academy is also on the verge of lunching new branches and invites qualified and interested applicants in the aforementioned position/s.

Summary of Job Requirements:

Any successful candidate for this advertised position is expected to be passionate of education and possess unquestionable teaching and child caring skills as well as team leadership skill which will help her/him create a conducive, nurturing classroom and learning environment for our KG students.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing educational programs for Kindergarten students that align with the FDRE educational policy as well as the vision and missions of Skillmart Academy. 

• Monitor the planning and delivery of lessons that cater to the individual learning needs of the students.

• Ensure a safe and positive school environment that promotes learning and encourages cooperation;

• Encourage and motivate staff and all other stakeholders to participate in school activities;

• Develop and maintain effective, respectful and professional relationship with staff, students, and parents;

• Developing and implementing policies and procedures for the efficient operation of the Academy.

• Supervising and evaluating the performance of teachers, support staff and other employees of the Academy.  

• Planning and organizing special events, activities, and conduct teachers’ mentoring.

• Communicating with parents or guardians of students, and promptly addressing any concerns or issues that they may have. 

• Managing the budget and resources of the Academy, and ensuring that resources are utilized appropriately. 

• Collaborating with the whole community of the Academy to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to learning for students. 

• Maintaining a safe and conducive learning environment for students and the staff. 

• Maintaining records and reports related to the school and making sure everything is available for retrieval as needed. 

• Carry out other activities as required;

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification & Experience

• Diploma in Kindergarten (Pre-School) Education;

• Degree in Educational Planning & Management (EdPM) is a plus;

• A minimum of  4 years professional experience at kindergarten level of which at least 2 years as a director;

Essential Competencies & Qualities

• Good knowledge of the Addis Ababa Education Bureau expectations and exposure to Private Schools’ operations;

• Excellent facilitation and networking skills; proven experience in coordinating & leading team/s;

• Oral & Written fluency in Amharic and English languages and good communication skills;

• Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to children;

• Excellent interpersonal & demonstrational skills;

• Unwavering patience and tolerance to children, faithfulness to work ethics as well as rules and regulations in all aspects.

• Knowledge of and/or exposure to current educational technologies and tools.

• Strong academic skills and proven ability to promote positive workplace behaviour.

• Knowledge of childhood development psychology.

• Excellent attention to details.
