Job Description

Marketing managers carry out the implementation of efforts related to the marketing operations in a company. They develop marketing strategies and plans by detailing cost and resources needed. They analyse the profitability of these plans, develop pricing strategies, and strive to raise awareness on products and companies among targeted customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategy

Ø Develop a regional marketing plan, aligned with the business strategy and ensure implementation

Marketing Management

Ø Promote a positive brand image that will lead to an increase in the overall subscriber base throughout the country.

Ø Develop content that drives brand awareness, consideration, acquisition, and positive customer behavior.

Ø Ensure the messaging and brand is aligned and drives customer acquisition and retention.

Ø Drive customer education, self-service awareness, and usage through marketing campaigns

Ø Brief BTL agency on campaigns.

Ø Take responsibility for the management of current campaigns and new brand building activities. 

Ø  Deliver on digital assets where necessary, as part of campaign delivery.

Ø  Oversee all marketing production processes from brief to delivery on brand, products, packages, and services campaigns.

Ø Drive awareness of packages offered as well as upgrades and downgrades.

Ø Drive awareness and usage of VAS services/products and other digital platforms across all spheres.

Ø  Drive retail/point of sale branding and marketing collateral and ensure sufficient supplies are available.

Ø  Coordinate all logistics and manage all admin related regional marketing activities.

Ø  Provide reports and feedback to the Senior Marketing Manager and HOD.  

Ø Plan and host regional activation, events etc Remain up to date with marketing best practices. 

Operational Delivery

Ø Implement all marketing plans to promote acquisition and retention.  

Ø Implement all marketing campaigns to promote customer education on packages, contents, self-service for DStv.

Ø Plan, execute, track and report on all marketing campaigns, new products, and services.  

Ø Lead the planning and implementation of region-specific brand activities and ensure alignment with brand objectives.

Ø Liaise with agencies and internal teams regarding on-air material and digital assets. 

Ø Manage brand packages education and upgrades and downgrades (flexibility) marketing campaigns.  

Ø Ensure all marketing campaigns are implemented as per the plan on ATL and BTL- Trade and POS

Reporting

Ø Prepare and present reports on campaign success and regional activities and trends as per the agreed timeline. 

  Stakeholder Management   

Ø Develop relationships regional sales managers, local regulators, amongst others.

Ø Build effective working relationships with existing providers and vendors.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

Ø Degree in Marketing or equivalent.

Ø 5 years’ experience in a marketing or brand management role from any consumer facing business.

Ø Focus on understanding customer and developing marketing propositions to drive purchase and brand affinity.

Ø Knowledge and understanding of operations, technical, and production background.

Ø Understanding of the model for working and developing campaigns with agencies and management of multiple stakeholders.

Ø Strong understanding of own markets and customers.

Ø Project management knowledge and experience.

Ø Media planning experience

Ø Sales and Trade marketing experience (Trade Marketing Experience is a must)
