Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Business Analyst which plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and software development teams. They are responsible for analyzing business processes, gathering requirements, and translating them into functional specifications for software solutions. Moreover, they are responsible for managing the preparation and submission of bids and proposals in response to customer requests. This role requires a combination of business acumen, technical knowledge, analytical skills, and proposal management expertise to ensure successful software development projects and effective proposal submissions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including business users, project managers, and developers, to elicit and document business requirements.

  • Conduct interviews, workshops, and observations to understand current processes and identify areas for improvement.

  • Analyze existing business processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for automation or optimization. Document as-is and to-be process models to facilitate a clear understanding of requirements and proposed solutions.

  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of bids and proposals in response to customer requests.

  • Work closely with sales, marketing, and technical teams to understand customer requirements and align them with the organization's capabilities and offerings.

  • Develop proposal documents by writing, editing, and formatting content as needed.

  • Ensure that all proposals are submitted on time and in accordance with company guidelines.

  • Maintain a proposal database and provide status tracking and reporting on proposals.

  • Create detailed and well-structured requirements documents, including functional specifications, use cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

  •  Ensure that the requirements are clear, concise, and aligned with the business objectives. Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and development teams, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.

  • Clarify requirements, address questions or concerns, and provide regular updates on project progress.

  • Collaborate with software architects and developers to design effective software solutions that meet business requirements.

  • Provide input on system design, user interface, data models, and integration points to ensure a scalable and maintainable software solution.

  • Collaborate with testing teams to define test plans and scenarios based on requirements.

  • Review test results, identify defects, and work with the development team to resolve issues and ensure the delivery of high-quality software.

  • Assess the impact of proposed software changes on business processes, systems, and stakeholders.

  • Support change management activities, including user training, documentation updates, and post-implementation support.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to software development and business analysis.

  •  Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend innovative solutions to enhance business efficiency and effectiveness.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 3 years Proven experience as a Business Analyst in software development projects, including experience in proposal management and preparation.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex business processes and translate them into clear requirements.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Solid understanding of software development methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall.

  • Familiarity with software development technologies and tools.

  • Proficiency in requirements management and documentation tools.

  • Knowledge of data analysis and modeling techniques.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Note:

- Certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) is a plus
