Wine making has been a part of the Ethiopian culture for more than a millennium, dating back to the Axumite era. Although this traditional method has survived all that time, the methods, quality, and variety stayed the same. In 1943 GC (1936 Ethiopian Calendar), a Greek family started the first winery in Ethiopia around followed by an Italian family who established their winery at Mekanisa. The two ventures where nationalized in 1973 and regrouped in one entity that was named Awash Wine. Since that time, we have grown to be one of the country’s most loved brands-a market leader that is interwoven with the cultural fabric of the county.

Job Summary 

Business Intelligence Manager is responsible to support the commercial function business monitoring and decision making through accurate and timely data collection and insightful analytic reporting.

  • Manage the relationships between Sales, Sales Operations, Key Accounts, and Marketing teams in terms of effective and efficient commercial data collection, flows and reporting to ensure effective execution of the Commercial Strategy.

  • Manage the relationships between Commercial, Production, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to ensure aligned business reporting, analysis and decision making.

  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, completeness, and compliance of data collection and information reporting practices/rules.

  • Track business performance results, monitor trends, and provide insights to management in a timely manner.

  • Go out for market visit and bring out insights for better execution

  • Interpret and analyze sales, financial and customer sales data for the purpose of providing information for decision making and recommendations for improvements.

  • Responsible for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual Commercial Reporting.

  • Responsibility for the management of and reporting of sales technology information.

  • Develop high level presentations with insights both for sale in and sale out data.

  • Assist RSMS in conducting periodical price survey.

  • Assist in development of Sales Team KPI to measure and reward performances.

  • Manage forecast accuracy KPI with the proposed yearly score level.

  • Ensuring data quality and timely submission of Reports and Database update.

  • Perform an 18 month and 13 weeks plan and re-evaluate it upon request.

  • Support the Commercial Team and the Business with data, information, reports, tools, and presentations for strategic decision making.

  • Recommend, develop, and design commercial reports and tools.

  • Continuously investigate/monitor consistency, accuracy and integrity of data and reports.

  • Review data flows, collection, and reporting processes.

  • Initiate, lead, and support data/reporting improvement initiatives/projects.

  • Be a thought leader on advancing sales intelligence capabilities through predictive analytics techniques and models.

  • Manage Route profitability with Retail POS Segmentation.

  • Manage annual Sales Volume Budget and Quarterly Estimates.

  • Manage Sales Volume Targets for Region and Agents.

  • Periodic meetings and performance reviews with subordinates, as per prescribed standards and timing schedule

  • Be responsible for the management and control of expenditures against set budgets of the unit.

  • Coach and mentor team members.

  • Be responsible for staff adherence to Awash S.C. policies and procedures.

  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

  • Collaborate with sales teams and finance to develop accurate sales forecasts and projections for budgeting and planning purposes.

  • Optimize sales territories and assignments to maximize coverage and potential within the market.

Job Requirements

Education Requirements

MA or BA Degree in Accounting, Marketing, Management, Economics, Information Technology, Operational Research, Statistics or related field

  Experience

  7 years of related work experience of which 4 years at supervisory position. Analytical and problem-solving experience with Sales and Marketing Teams is a plus.
