As a pioneering national NGO, it has been serving the needy through transformational investment operating seven branches and area projects in different regions and a university college in Addis Ababa City administration. HOPE involved in holistic human development with concrete interventions by ways of basic care, education, vocational training, job and business mediation and values development. The organization is currently seeking a qualified candidate and experienced MIS Specialist to join our team. 

The MIS Specialist, reporting directly to the SEED Project Manager in Addis Ababa, is responsible for the efficient operation and support of information systems within the SEED project. This role entails serving as a technical expert for developing, implementing, and managing information and data management systems. Responsibilities include overseeing MIS tools, collaborating with departments for data management solutions, ensuring data security, analyzing data for decision-making, and conducting training programs. Additionally, the specialist analyzes data trends, develops improvement strategies, collaborates with project managers, and ensures data privacy and security in specific SEED projects.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain the organization's Management Information System (MIS), including troubleshooting and resolving issues.

• Analyse data, generate reports, and recommend strategies for performance improvement.

• Collaborate with Seed project staff, Hope enterprises head office staff, and SEED project consortium team, to understand the needs and develop solutions.

• Implement and maintain data security protocols to ensure confidentiality and integrity.

• Conduct training programs to educate staff on effective use of the MIS.

• Stay updated with technology advancements and identifies opportunities for system improvements.

• Work with third-party vendors to evaluate and acquire new software or hardware.

• Collect, organize, and maintain data related to job creation programs.

• Analyse data trends, develop improvement strategies, and collaborate with program managers.

• Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations for stakeholders.

• Identify and track relevant metrics to measure program success and impact.

• Research industry best practices and innovations in data collection and analysis.

• Ensure data privacy and security measures are followed.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in MIS, BAIS, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a non-profit organization.

• Strong knowledge of database management, data analysis, and reporting.

• Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Java, Python).

• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Prior experience as an MIS Specialist is preferred.

• Integrity, honesty, reliability, willingness to work extra hours, self-driven, and committed team player with high ethical standards and good interpersonal skills.

Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in MIS, BAIS,  Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and 5 years of relevant experience, Master's degree and 3 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience

• Strong knowledge and understanding of database management, data analysis, and reporting.

• Proven experience in managing and troubleshooting Management Information Systems.

• Proficient in programming and scripting languages, such as SQL, Java, and Python.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals.

• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

• Prior experience as an MIS Specialist is preferred.
